Back 4-5 years ago I was jammin with Xtant amps, and I never see them anymore. Did they just up and leave? Xtant was very good quality. Here is a pic of the Xtant line im talking about.

its gotta have a hefty pricetag
Well....maybe, maybe not. All intel "Xtreme" cpu's (I.E QX9650, QX6700, X965, X975) All start @ $999 (quantity of 1000 per lot) I am going to guess that this CPU will be 6-700$ when first launched, then drop to $599 after market settles. Of course this is all a guess, and the damn CPU could go for $1500, who the hell knows! Either way, awesome cpu, and should be great for Win7 and a quad SLi setup with 12gb ram @ DDR2133MHz. Holy shit, could you imagine the memory bandwidth @ that speed........30,000+MB per sec! FLYIN BRO!
-
Yup, you may only need a BIOS update! The 920 is the best CPU currently for i7 and "bank-4-buck" performance. Are you OCed at all?
-
If I had more then $1.23 to my name, I would be all over this new CPU coming out. It will drop in a LGA 1366 skt, triple channel mem (Core i7) should OC like crazy with watercooling, and have 6 "Physical cores" and 6 "logical cores" that is 12 cores (When HT is enabled) obviously the 6 logical cores aren't "REAL" cores, but rather "HELPERS" for the pysical cores. This damn CPU can process 12 threads at once!!! w00t!! Holy crap, if only games could use "multi-cores" effeciently, this would be a gamers dream. The future holds bright for Intel.

in all honesty all those amps you wrote out are awesome amps. I dont think you could go wrong with either of em. Personally if i was to choose 1 of them, it would be the RF 20001bd, as I really like the RF remote bass knob.

thanks guys, appreciate the feedback.....

Meade, your CPU is a q"X"6700. Not that it makes much difference though. Games now a days are more GPU bound due to the high resolution at which we play them at. If you game with crysis @ 1280x968 (or whatever) that will bottleneck the CPU, and your gpu's wouldnt hardly be taxed. The higher you crank that res, the more the GPU's take the load off the CPU. See what im saying. Now, when you upgrade to a Corei7 CPU, the shear mem bandwidth that CPU has (25000mb per sec) compared to our Core2Duo/core2quads @ 7-9000 mb per sec) will MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE for SLi as SLi LOVES MEM BANDWIDTH.

right on bro, thanks.

It has everything to do with your question. Unless you have a peltier or something going on, your volts are going to drop slightly once your alternator warms up. Doesn't matter if you have an MLA module, stock alternator, external regulator, or anything else.
OK, I was really nice before, but now that your telling me that "YOUR" answer is the end of all answers, IT ISNT. Im looking for a read out number, NOT A "your volts are going to drop .4 .5 as it gets hot" NO shit, we all know that.
-
With any alternator (I just checked with my stock and my high output) The voltage cold is definitely higher by .3 or .4 volts than it is warm.
thanks for the reply, but that had nothing to do with my question

wait, what blew? the mid or the tweet? you do know the x-overs have light-bulb fusing in them to protect the tweet right? check that - also, you might want to scope that amp and set the gains properly if you are going thru mids and highs frequently like that. If your within RMS and your NOT clipping, speakers are hard to break.
oh and i dont know how loud your trying to get, but maybe the answer isnt so much a brand change as it is maybe adding more mids/highs. Your only gonna get so much out of 1 pair of seperates bro...
oh, and i second the recomendation for the T162s next time.....its their power series mids/highs.....punch is coo (what your running) but its not the best RF offers -
OK UPDATE........ I took off the door panel (passenger side) to get a closer inspection of the woofer, and upon looking at it, pushing in its cone, all seemed well. What broke is the crossover! This set of components uses a triangular shaped x-over and once I had the crossover in my hand, it was clear what was the problem. There was 2 broken off caps inside (had to be from vibration) I was able to solder one back on, and I dropped the other one, and cant find it anywhere. Is it possible to just be able to purchase just one x-over from RF, OR BETTER YET, COULD THIS ONE X-OVER BE WARRANTIED?
-
Just to find out, can someone share with me what your voltage is at after warm up in hot weather using a MLA module? please, just curious. Thanks

only cards that accelerate EAX are creative. XF-i cards are excellent, but can get pricey. For $100 you can get a PCI-e version XF-i with onboard 64mb ram (great for games like Unreal/doom/farcry/bunch of games...........

well, tomorrow im going to try this out. My local sound shop is great, Im sure if the alpine isnt so great, i'll try with a different set **EDIT** how are the alpine type "S" speakers? Are they decent?
-
I was just thinking of this.......can I just replace "BOTH" woofers with (lets say) a quality alpine/R.F coaxial speaker and just connect it to the crossover. See what im saying. Instead of ripping everything out of my doors to return for an RMA, or spend money that I really dont have, I can just replace the RF woofers with a 4ohm coaxial woofer that can handle more power. My local shop will sell me infinity kappa coax set for $85. So when all is done, my front sound stage would be alpine woofer (mid bass) RF tweets, and RF crossover.....Will this be OK?

k thanks.
and how bout this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811146025

also, pick me out a good cooler for that processor.
That power supply is a piece of SHIT!! DO NOT BUY IT! I am partial with PC Power & Cooling PSU's. Seriously, by a PCP&C PSU, now that OCZ bought them, there prices have dropped over 50% in the last 4 months, and there quality is untouchable. Get the 610w PCP&C psu from newegg, and you'll have a PSU for life. Everything else you listed is "OK" If your on a small budget, just use the built in sound from the motherboard, but if you dont like that idea, that card you listed is great for "studio quality audio" just not good for games, as the built in audio processor wont "accelerate" EAX enabled games. no biggie though, were only talking about a 2-3FPS hit. As far as a cooler goes, I only watercool my PC's so you might want to look into that. You can get a "Good" setup for under 150$, but if air cooling is all you want, get this...... http://www.petrastechshop.com/thulhecpucos.html . I buy ALL MY COOLING STUFF from these guys. There the best on the net, ALEX, and Quoc (The owners) stand behind there stuff 100%. THere customer feedback is rediculous, nearly off the charts!

I just blew my passenger side woofer, I could always warrenty them (cause sonic electronix is good like that) but It will just happen again, soooooo. To get the most out of my mids/high amp ( POS MTX) I can get 90watts RMS @ 2ohm, so im thinking this time around I think it might be wise to get a component set that is 2ohm. I'm almost glad this happened cause this RF set just didnt get loud enough. I see JBL has a set that is 2ohm for 134$ my budget is 150$ Does JBL make a quality set? Also, I was thinking of this. Can I run the 2 front channels on my MTX thunder amp @ 2ohm, and the 2 rear channels @ 4ohm? Or NO. THanks

here is a great motherboard for it. Excellent OCer as-well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128359
Here is a great GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130482

His profile is funny, did you fill all that out David? Funny as shit! HPI- I hope this all gets cleared up for you, I just dont understand these low life fu*k bags that do this to people...... G/L bro,

This CPU here ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115041 ) is one of the BEST cpu's for a skt 775 platform. DAMN GOOD OCer to, and 12MB OF CACHE w00t! This bitch will fly when paired with the right stuff.

Intel is faster clock for clock. What I mean is that Core2 series CPU's are clock 4 clock faster then an AMD X2/X3/X4. The Core i5/i7's are WAY FASTER then the AMD PII"s so we cant compare them in this case. AMD might be a little cheaper (by little I mean maybe a 40-50$ savings) BUT, Intel will be faster. So you make the choice.

I have a lathe. And i like to play with it And i want more than just a 250amp And the fact i have never seen a dual alt setup on a kl car such as the probe or the mx6. So it's more of a challenge than a necesity.....
Right on bro! I agree, shit go all out or nothing right???? Hell for that matter, that is why this forum is possible!

ill prolly get that ram. i have a feeling 8 gigs is overkill even if ill be using 64 bit(which i will)
also here is the mobo i was looking at. lemme know what you think cuz ill be ordering tmw http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128376
Hold on! What budget are you working with? Intel is about to release the new skt 1156 Corei5 CPU's WITH ARE FUCKING BEASTS, and will be nice and affordable. I wouldn't sink a penny into PC's right now, knowing that for 500$ in about 1-2 months could have gotten me a Core i5 CPU, DDR3 mem, and a badass motherboard. If this is out of budget and you "ALREADY HAVE A AMD CPU" then the board you linked me t o is just fine. However if you dont already have an AMD CPU, My recommendation is to stick with an Intel Core2 Duo/Core2 Quad setup which can be had VERY VERY VERY CHEAP right now.
Holy Hell, Here Is The Multi-taskers Dream Cpu Coming Soon!

I completely agree, however show me this CPU last year, I would have already gotten one (even though its not out yet) and would already have it on a 2 stage cascade setup with -100c temps! Or some weekend fun on dryice/liquid nitrogen
