  1. You need the AD244 Alt for your tahoe from who ever. The iraggi listed is the same AD244. You need to look @ idle output if you park and play alot. Idle is where you need the most power output(I feel). Just depends on your style!

    You really have 2 options:

    high output above idle

    better output @ idle

all companies spec are different so try to see where you fit in. If you demo alot you want higher @ idle if you drive more than demo then the higher while driving should be fine. Double check where your vehicle's idle sits then compare to the alts idle needs. Some alts do not even turn on till over 1000RPM's so look at all of these so you get the best for your needs.

    Oh we fit AD244's :D

Well, I emailed Dom, and about 2 minutes later I had a response (damn that was fast) I think what im going with is a Dual ALT braket, and his 300amp alt, to run "WITH" my stock 130amp alt. Does this sound logical, and how would I wire it? Would I just keep the stock alt "left alone" and wire the 300amp alt to my amps and extra batts? Here is my understanding of electrical, "I leave it alone, and it leaves me alone!" Everytime I do electrical somehow or someway be it either home or car, I get shocked. Doesnt bother me, however one day it is going to bite me hard!......... Does anyone know how much the dual alt braket costs around?

  2. yes there are LOTS of 300a alts out there and they all say the same thing. Your "at idle" will suck but after 800-1000rpm its awesome.

I recommend Iraggi myself but if anyone else wants to give this guy some numbers USE PM's or the FOR SALE section.

thank you, can someone tell me if this is the correct direct replacement alt for my tahoe... It comes factory with the 130amp, and the stock replacement part number is 8237, and this Iraggi alt say it is compatable, but want to ask here first. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/300-amp-Ira...itemZ7955208394

  3. Here are a few pictures of my 3 dogs. Bailey is a Basset Hound, Diezel is German Shepard, and Dually is my PitBull....... Diezel, and Dually are all AKC/UKC registered, Bailey is a mix Basset, and springer spaniel (he is the best tempered dog we have ever had)

THis Dually as a pup, think he was 10 weeks here, he is trying to understand what the hell to do!!!

  4. Sweet box!!! Deffintally going to get the super loud!

thank you, just got home from work (4.38am) and am getting to work on my box again.....been up 21hours, and back to working on this thing, yes im addicted! Can someone tell me what is the preferred way of getting the speaker wires to the outside of the case, is there anything special or fancy I can do. I would hate to just drill a couple of holes and run the wire out, then seal the hole up as best as I could, that it just to "redneck" LOL!

  5. With the help of "Accordman" who spec'ed out the box for me, I just finished the 45's in the corner, and gluing corners and what not. I initially had the box all to gether, and accordman informed me of a major flaw that I did........I dint glue the surface of the boards where other boards meet up. I dis-assembled the box completely, GLUED EVERYTHING, then made some 45's for the corners, and then glued up all the corners just for re-assurence. The box feels completely solid, and not to mention nearly 100pounds more then likely. The top 2x4 really added much needed structual strength to it, as I can lift a corner, and there is NO MORE SLOP!. On saturday, I will be doing a few layers of fiberglass, for added strength. This is my first ever box build, so please tell me what you think, but be NICE! The box is 48.5x30x22.5 for 16cuft @ ~34hz. I hope i'm doing this correctly...... **EDIT*** The glue looks like shit in the picture, but I did smooth it all out, and looks flawless (at least to me that is)

These are the new pix of my nearly completed box build, how are they?

The black marker looks like the line wasn't followed right, but both those circles are 100% "round" the angle is bad in the pic

  6. based on what i've read around the net ( so i might be wrong) i would say ur gonna need a new alt. More batteries wont do you any good, it will just add more stress to your already overpowered alt. So i would go with the new alt and the Big 3 and replace your current batt with maybe an optima yellow top.

thank you for the reply, I already have a optima yellow as my only bat in the system (underhood). I have email Iraggi alt a few days ago (3-4) and still no quote for my truck. Is there another place to purchase one?

  7. Depending on the efficiency[sp?] of your amp,

if it is A/B and 60%, you can safely get [90x.6] x voltage [12] atleast 650 watts

If it is D and 80%, you can safely get [90x.8] x [12] atleast 860 watts

If your voltage is 14.4 you could get over 1000 watts if it is class D

I have a 110 amp alt with 105 amps of current draw on my sytem [multiple amps] and I get some headlight dimming, but the voltage never goes below 12 volts.

Im sorry to thread jack, but have a question: Im currently on a 140amp alt and will be using a AQ2200D amp, if I follow your calculations of 140x.8x12=1344. Does this mean I will have to upgrade to more batts, or a new alt? My idle amps is 14.1-14.4 will my current setup at full blast. I have not done the BIGIII yet (I will of course) what are my options here?

  8. I was currently using a Panasonic HU (was highend about 2 years ago as I paid 400 for it) however recently it started skipping VERY badly while playing CD's and I, well......Ripped it out from the dash while at a red light, and tossed it in the woods on the side of the road, I was so pissed off at it. Im now using some cheap as JVC HU, but it sounds very good for nearly a 5 year old HU. Looking for a new HU that has HI Volt pre outs, and WONT skip while playing CD's, and really cant afford to spend more then $175-250 on it. Can you help me narrow down my search..... Thanks

  9. I have PM'ed 2 people on this forum in the past 1-2 days, and my "sent" folder shows that no PM's have been sent, and neither of the 2 people I pm'ed have responded. After I send the PM, a screen pops up and say "message sent, we will now redirect you, or click here if you cant wait." However, under my account, it still shows my "SENT" box, completely empty.... What can I do to fix this?
