  3. id rather just the 12 well for one i already got the box and 15 seems a lil to big for a back of a wrangler

  5. Well my ol' trusty MTX 12's are no longer any good, voice coil got warped , and so now it just makes this awful noise when there playing so i decided that it was time to get new ones but what do you suggest in or around the 100 - 150 dollar section (there going in a jeep i dont want anything expensive in there)any help is appreciated
  6. i had a nissan truck that when you turned the turn signals on the battery metter would move alot (10v -14v) but it never seemed to really pull much power i think something was going on with the cluster
  7. im pretty sure if you put a 16v battery in a car your gonna fry something i would just stick with a normal 12v amp
  8. yea thats the way mine does and its got some years on it
  9. when i went mudding the 12v came undone and well
  10. yea i might just put 2 on each side, im guessing the reason it gets so hot is because i do play very it loud for a long time or there might be something wrong with the amp it has had 12v on one side of the speaker output but its never showed any problems
  11. so what would be my best thing to go with
  12. yea thats what i was thinking about an computer fan i have the amp under my seat but the seat is like 5 inchs off the ground so its not suffocated
  13. Well if you know me when im my jeep ill play my music pretty loud but after a while the amp for my subs will get really hot and turn off which i can understand that but i was looking for like a fan or something to help cool it down any help would appreciated
  14. well you gotta point
  15. the problem is i have no where else to put it close
  16. i have the ground on the seat belt screw its the only place and the amps at a 2ohm load which is what it handles and it still gets hot even if i dont play it
  17. yes it is 8ga but only 6inches of it
  18. its 2ga power but i have it steped down to 8ga but its only 6 inches the 2ga wouldnt fit my connectors and my speaker wires need bigget
  19. yea i'll do that i kinda figured it was gonna need a fan
  20. i did before i ever hooked them because the amp can only handle 2 ohms higher or below that puts it into protect
  21. i just set it until there was no distortion its 2ga wire and it grounded on the seat belt screw only place in a jeep its mounted up under my rear seat you think an amp that big would come with a fan or something but yea it up under my rear seat
  22. this was before i had done any cleaning up i had just got it mounted its set at 1/4 way
