started assembling the top half sealed it off and blocked out the back window. Then filled it with r13 Home insulation to make the enclosure to the Selenium 8s. Then suede wrapped everything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-31AiiDnpNg

Then it went into the body shop for about 2 weeks. Window was leaking and all the spot welds on the front of the car were broken. So I had it braced and fixed. It has a piece of 1"x1"x1/8" angle iron running the length of the roof and then that was boxed in with 3 layers of 1/8" Plate steel. The window lip is about a 1/4" thick and all welds are solid or plug welded. They also rewelded the second brace back on.

Finally have some updates been a while but had a lot problems with the roof from the years of abuse. Also decided to wall it off again. Built a top piece to make the wall which holds. 8 Selenium 8w4p and 4 Power acoustic NX-5s.

Combination of the sealed chamber size and ratio of the I guess you would say ported half of the enclosure. Ya ratios have alot to do with it. But like I said its designed just for that car. If this helps out I use Bass Box Pro 6 to design all my enclosures. The program give very good and close to real world graph read out if you have it setup right. Wish I had my other camera that broke where I could plug in the external mic to show the sound quality.

Would love to tell you but one of my secrets. Its lots of math and tuning. You also have to no the frequency response of your car because it works very closely with the car. If you took this box and put it in your car it would be totally different sound and frequencies.

This one has a very even wide frequency range was built for daily driving and no competition. Everyone I have put in the car is amazed by the low notes.

Looks good but I recommend a box with more port area around 50 - 60 sq in.

2005 Pontiac Grand Am. Goal was to build a wide range 4th Order enclosure. We succeeded plays from 28hz - 72hz efficiently. Last time it was meter it did a 141.7 on TL. It has DD Mids and Highs on a DD C4b.
