  2. Could be an option, hmmm. I'll get back to the drawing board!!! yeh thanks, i thought i needed more port area
  3. note that the 1.85 cu.ft is including the drivers displacement
  4. Here's what ive got. The port is 15 cu.inch and 15.6 long. tuned to 32Hz. Net Volume is now at 2.05 cu.ft.
  5. Ha, yeh. It really is killing me. Wranglers aren't the best for serious bass. I can get 2.1 cubes with the 3/4 MDF, not including port. I'm doing some CAD designs now, so i'll show you whe i'm done with them
  6. Well considering each sub will have bout 1.3kw each. I figure it's best to go for smaller volume.
  7. I can push it to 2.37 if i go with 3/4 MDF
  8. But wouldn't the amount of subs determine the port area, coz there's more air moving. It's all planning at this stage. So i'm just going through my options
  9. Ha, yeah, i've always had sealed, so time for something different. Fi recommend 0.5 cu.ft min for a ported BL 10, so it's not too extreme wat i'm doin. Especially coz i'm overpowering them
  10. It was 1.85 cu.ft for all 3 subs. I'm settin the challenge of getting max sound out on min space. I know on Sound Sol forum they say 15 inch^2 of port area, but i dunno if that'd be 45 for 3 subs...
  11. I'm currently designing a box for behind the rear seats of my wrangler. It's for 3 fully loaded BL's and gonna be run of an RF T4k <a href="http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/559/67194141kj8.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/></a><br/><a href="http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=205&i=67194141kj8.jpg"><img src="http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/559/67194141kj8.7f756000d3.jpg" border="0"></a> If you give me dimensions i can work something out for ya
  12. I'm designing a ported enclosure for 3 BL 10's. I Have a net volume of 1.85 cu.ft and tuning to 32Hz. What port area should i have for this and what would the length be. Thanks
  13. I had two 90Ah's in my Patrol with a 50 Amp Alternator!!!! Oh yeh, sniff sniff... wat's burning.... lol All depends on battery size and Alt output.
  14. Most Auto elects have current meters. Look like a clamp that goes over the top of wire, counts the electrons apparently
  15. Distortion is the same as clipping, meaning that the top of the AC sine-wave is lost due to insufficient power. In yor case, the only reason i can think of is that the gain is turned up too much on either the H/U or the amp. Note that bass boost on an amp is good as it isolates the sub, where as most head units will amplify bass for all channels. My advice is to get rid of any bass related EQ's or boosters on the head unit and stick with gain on the sub channel... Eskii
  16. DD would be a pretty good option, as we have then available in Aus...
  17. Ha thanks, well i'm a newbie on the forum. But do have a fair bitta knowlege with car audio. Just like to here other opinions! Eskii
  18. I'm sure they would sound good. No disrespect, but i did state it's for a SPL/Daily and from my experience, sony doesn't proved soild sound. I need something that sounds awesome! Q's would be a good choice. Lvl 4's, haven't really looked into them at all actually, i will but Something i'm still deciding on IS wat sort of enclosure to go with, subs will have to be facing down. So the only options are sealed, port-down, port-up. BTW, I'm from Australia. So Walmart... Wat's that lol
  19. I'm looking at getting a pair of 10's for ma wrangler, so i don't have to sacrifice the back seats during summer. Max enclosure volume will be around 2.5 cu.ft. So i need maximum power, with minimal space. Purpose being SPL/Daily. Fi Q or BL? Suggestions...
