I actually remember when regulate came out on the above the rim cd. I used to borrow that cd from my sister and jam to that CONSTANTLY! Haha, can't believe I was only 4 years old...
Good times, good times...
You guys got good taste.
-
That's just insane...
Lookin awesome assman, that thing is freakin unbelievable. :hairtrick:
-
Also what load are your subs presenting to the amp?
-
i just removed some emblems from my car and the bug and tar shit wouldnt touch it! i had to go and buy goo gone.
Really? Damn... Did you use a sponge to scrub it after it soaked?
Strange man, I had the opposite. I tried goo gone first and no luck, but then I had better with the bug and tar.
-
Man, you just have not had good luck...
-
I got some stuff from the autoparts store called bug and tar remover that worked wonders at getting my pinstripe decals off. They had a rough glue that was stubborn as hell...
-
I'm not so keen on the ipod's personally, I feel like they aren't as good a product rather than they are just very well marketed.
And when I say very well marketed I mean VERYYYYY WELL marketed. :hairtrick:
I still think my sandisk sansa e260 is a much better product than any of the ipod nano's.
Unfortunately for us into the car audio, apple has the monopoly grip on manufacturers (alpine, pioneer, etc...) (again VERY WELL marketed)
-
Man the lights look good! I gotta get me some more money to keep the add-ons coming...
-
They're stuff is good depending on WHAT you walk into the store expecting to get. If you're looking for a drill you plan on using more than once then you will leave the store with a piece of junk, however if you go into the store to get chip brushes for fiberglassing then you'll be the happiest person ever.
Stay away from the tools you NEED to depend on, (drills, saws, grinders...)
I do recommend the expendables, things that it's just impossible to break. Example, how the hell can you make a P.O.S. chip brush? The things I've found are great things from harbor freight is things like, brushes, step bits (very impressed), small soldering irons, clamps, bungee cords, air hose fittings, nut driver set... you know, the little things that it's just impossible to screw up in the manufacturing process...
-
Yeah man, you gotta definitely take the texture off first. I think trying to fill it with primer would make that layer way thicker than you want for a good finish.
Are you going for a glass finish or something else?
-
yea man will do.
as soon as that shit shows up ill be installing it.
I feel ya, I remember when mine came in I called in to work and told them bastards I wasn't going to be there.
So now you've set yourself in a trap, now we know you'll have it by saturday so we can expect to have pics and if no pics by then... :ban:

The irony is it probably only translates into something short... :01nocomment8so:

Go to his house and leave him an upper decker.
That'll teach the bastard...

a pimp ass mothaphuggin dodge mini van lol.
temporary ride of course, but its all i got for now.
It's all good dude, I know EXACTLY how that is, I drove a 78 silverado big ten for a solid year. Well I take that back, I drove it about 3 months total and was underneath the fuckin thing the rest of the time fixing bitch... This ride had rust holes straight through the hood, cab, sides, bed, fenders... The P.O.S. had bolts out the ass holding the starter to the engine block, which you had to crawl under and adjust everytime you wanted to crank it. :censored: But the whole time I was using it to get from work and back making money for the new ride, and that's what it's all about.
Anyway, yeah, that ipod cable is long enough to go basically anywhere. I chose the glove box simply because I hate apple products and would rather not see the ipod if I didn't have to.
Let us know how it comes out man.
-
Quicksilver, what kind of ride is it? Just curious how you're going to be running that ipod cable. To the glovebox I'm assuming?
-
You finally got it in man?!? Hurry up and play with it and get some reviews on how you like it, I'm still waiting for you to tell me I was absolutely right about it...
Anyways, what kind of audio shops are around you? I got a periphials brand from a local shop since I wanted it RIGHT THEN, but it's a LOT cheaper online.

^18 bucks.

Or if youre cruzin around in 40 degree weather with your windows down they might think something is wrong lol
What's wrong with that?
If you live down here in TX, you're like me and say "fuck the heater". I LOVE when it gets cold, roll them windows down and bask in the low temperature cause it does NOT last long, we have summer 3 out of 4 seasons.
Anyway for the topic at hand, you can find shops that will do 5% for you, but usually they will not offer you a receipt. They do not want any liability or bad business due to giving you an illegal tint job.
-
Dude trust me, you're going to come back to this thread and say "Chris you were absolutely right, the 87 is tha shit!"
-
yea but vista=hugemicrosoftfreakingstupidasshype.a.k.a.FAIL
Which is exactly why I am Tri-booting vista/xp/ubuntu.
I'm not sure what you're getting to here logan, but even if it sucks it works... And if there's something you need to do otherwise, just restart and boot up xp/ or linux... What I'm saying is, I just like data cd burning feature of vista, Chill bro...
Anyway, back on topic. Yes I highly recommend the 9887. :hairtrick:
-
I've seem to found the perfect medium for best quality music for me. I use CD-RW and windows vista to make data cd's where I put all my mp3's. The advantage of the CD-RW is that with vista you can add tracks to it. So whenever I find a new song I can just add it to the cd instead of wasting another damn disc to put all the same music back on, just to add one song to.
-
I was asking the same question a little under a year ago.
Go with the 9887, I did and now I know why, and now I appreciate MUCH more why I went with it. There is a BIG difference between features of the two when you learn to use one or both of them. I can go to best buy and play with the 9886 and it just pisses me off to see how many features it lacks. Not only the nice EQ but the crossover is a MAJOR plus.
Changing the background animations and illumination colors is another great feature... Um, man I can't even describe it all.
Just go with the 9887.
I'm not sure what the other posts said about imprint, but understand that imprint works for both the 86 and 87. On the 87 it's just not called "imprint" on the button, it's "multi-eq". Same thing, different button.
I'll come back and add in other features if you want, but I need to see about getting my remote for my alarm fixed right now.
As for the best price, amazon. I got mine in January for $280.

Is there a chance the rear end of that car would come off the ground without that spoiler or is it purely for looks?
-
Ah great guys, that cleared it up for me!
Gotta love how much you can learn just by asking.
