  1. I'm not so keen on the ipod's personally, I feel like they aren't as good a product rather than they are just very well marketed.

And when I say very well marketed I mean VERYYYYY WELL marketed. :hairtrick:

I still think my sandisk sansa e260 is a much better product than any of the ipod nano's. :)

Unfortunately for us into the car audio, apple has the monopoly grip on manufacturers (alpine, pioneer, etc...) (again VERY WELL marketed) :(

  2. They're stuff is good depending on WHAT you walk into the store expecting to get. If you're looking for a drill you plan on using more than once then you will leave the store with a piece of junk, however if you go into the store to get chip brushes for fiberglassing then you'll be the happiest person ever.

Stay away from the tools you NEED to depend on, (drills, saws, grinders...)

I do recommend the expendables, things that it's just impossible to break. Example, how the hell can you make a P.O.S. chip brush? The things I've found are great things from harbor freight is things like, brushes, step bits (very impressed), small soldering irons, clamps, bungee cords, air hose fittings, nut driver set... you know, the little things that it's just impossible to screw up in the manufacturing process...

  3. a pimp ass mothaphuggin dodge mini van lol.

temporary ride of course, but its all i got for now.

It's all good dude, I know EXACTLY how that is, I drove a 78 silverado big ten for a solid year. Well I take that back, I drove it about 3 months total and was underneath the fuckin thing the rest of the time fixing bitch... This ride had rust holes straight through the hood, cab, sides, bed, fenders... The P.O.S. had bolts out the ass holding the starter to the engine block, which you had to crawl under and adjust everytime you wanted to crank it. :censored: But the whole time I was using it to get from work and back making money for the new ride, and that's what it's all about.

Anyway, yeah, that ipod cable is long enough to go basically anywhere. I chose the glove box simply because I hate apple products and would rather not see the ipod if I didn't have to. ;)

Let us know how it comes out man.

  4. You finally got it in man?!? Hurry up and play with it and get some reviews on how you like it, I'm still waiting for you to tell me I was absolutely right about it... ;)

Anyways, what kind of audio shops are around you? I got a periphials brand from a local shop since I wanted it RIGHT THEN, but it's a LOT cheaper online.

    http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-KCE-422i-Spee...1557&sr=8-4

    ^18 bucks.

  5. Or if youre cruzin around in 40 degree weather with your windows down they might think something is wrong lol

    What's wrong with that?

If you live down here in TX, you're like me and say "fuck the heater". I LOVE when it gets cold, roll them windows down and bask in the low temperature cause it does NOT last long, we have summer 3 out of 4 seasons.

Anyway for the topic at hand, you can find shops that will do 5% for you, but usually they will not offer you a receipt. They do not want any liability or bad business due to giving you an illegal tint job.

  6. yea but vista=hugemicrosoftfreakingstupidasshype.a.k.a.FAIL

Which is exactly why I am Tri-booting vista/xp/ubuntu.

I'm not sure what you're getting to here logan, but even if it sucks it works... And if there's something you need to do otherwise, just restart and boot up xp/ or linux... What I'm saying is, I just like data cd burning feature of vista, Chill bro...

Anyway, back on topic. Yes I highly recommend the 9887. :hairtrick:

  7. I've seem to found the perfect medium for best quality music for me. I use CD-RW and windows vista to make data cd's where I put all my mp3's. The advantage of the CD-RW is that with vista you can add tracks to it. So whenever I find a new song I can just add it to the cd instead of wasting another damn disc to put all the same music back on, just to add one song to.

  8. I was asking the same question a little under a year ago.

Go with the 9887, I did and now I know why, and now I appreciate MUCH more why I went with it. There is a BIG difference between features of the two when you learn to use one or both of them. I can go to best buy and play with the 9886 and it just pisses me off to see how many features it lacks. Not only the nice EQ but the crossover is a MAJOR plus.

Changing the background animations and illumination colors is another great feature... Um, man I can't even describe it all.

    Just go with the 9887.

I'm not sure what the other posts said about imprint, but understand that imprint works for both the 86 and 87. On the 87 it's just not called "imprint" on the button, it's "multi-eq". Same thing, different button.

I'll come back and add in other features if you want, but I need to see about getting my remote for my alarm fixed right now.

As for the best price, amazon. I got mine in January for $280.
