  1. no, im talking months. ive seen that pic before.

I'd have to say I'm sorry but I doubt it was THIS picture, I took this picture last sunday morning somewhere between San Antonio and San Marcos TX.

You sure it wasn't someone else who possibly saw this guy and took a pic? Maybe even this guy I saw copied someone else who had it before.

Either way this was the first time I've ever seen anyone do this and I had to take a picture.

Maybe you saw it also when I posted it in the random image thread a while back? http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...0&start=840

My bad for getting off topic in the thread, back to seeing if he got the paint fixed on the back... :good:

  2. You guys remember Tom Green? Used to have a show on MTV where he did crazy stupid things...

Anyways, turns out the guy is a decent rapper. You wouldn't expect it from him since he's so crazy, but hell if I didn't get surprised to hear this song THUMPS!

I can't find a video of the song off of the album, all I can find is a live version of it.

Cracks me up listening to all the jokes he makes in the song, but take my word for it and get the album version of the track and play it with your system, it WILL surprise you.

Some info on the song: I put it in audacity and did the frequency analysis and it shows that the song peaks at 48hz, 16 dB.

Here's the cd it's from as well: Tom Green - Prepare For Impact

    Track # 9

I got a video of it in my truck but damnit if I didn't borrow my dads camera because my cell phone did a horrible job at capturing the sound.

Oh well, you get the idea...

  3. Downfiring would sound really good. Over at fiberglass forums a guy had a really good reply in a thread that had to do with how to face your subs to get a good sound, he recommended downfiring as a great way to get good sound. The floor wont give in to the sound pressure created by the cones and will allow the full sound to resonate out into the listening environment much better. Adjust your design to have the subs off of the floor and take into consideration whenever it flexes not to let the surround get too close and touch the floor. Allow a good gap or channel for the pressure from the front of the subs to get out as well.

8 cubes sound good, for those subs on the specs it says 3 cubes per sub, and 4 cubes per sub SPL, but I assume you're going for the SPL ported volume? Nice man, should be a good system.

    how can i fix this?

or do you guys know how much it will cost me(just at estimate) if i do get it fixed at a shop?

Do like everyone else is saying and just put new emblem letters on.

If you want, go a head and find an extra "S" and do this,

^I took this picture on my way back from San Antonio about a week ago. Thought it was just too damn cool, had to get a snap of it. :D

  5. for full detail(wash/vac/wax/buff/etc) was only $150...

Jesus hell... F*ck that, you'll see this scrawny ass white boy underneath the truck with a water hose and some old toothbrushes before I pay that.

Haha, I grew up helping my brothers and sisters wash their cars just so I could get a ride to mc donalds, lol. I like spending the least amount of money I have to simply because I don't have it, and if I can I'll do the job myself. Gotta save every penny when it comes down to it. ;)

I guess if they got BRAND new type clean on EVERY part of the vehicle I could understand maybe $200 dollars for a car cleaning, but I better see someone out there cleaning ALL the frame, engine, rust spots, and even down picking dirt out of the tire treads with a toothpick.

  6. you wont use wires on that part. whoever made the rotating sub box, they used like steel bearing of some sort that contacted and that acted as the wires. idk how to explain it.

That's what I was thinking too. I would think the hardest thing about this whole setup is getting all the right programming into it so that it knows just how fast to spin, as well as what angles for the blades to get the right frequency. So many variables to work with, whoever got the thing to work so well must have been a damn good acoustic engineer or something...

Forevrbumpn, that's freakin insane low bass, did you ever put it in a vehicle and see how it sounded?

I believe it's the only type of subwoofer that can reproduce frequencies below 20 hertz. According to their site it will even produce frequencies below 1hz.

From what I've read it goes beyond sound and that you just FEEL the bass. And if I remember right you have to have a VERY large amount of airspace for it to be effective, they install them in the house's attic.

  8. That's a VERY cool new type of bass producer for home systems. Instead of using a voice coil on a cone to create sound pressure it has a fan in which the blades can change their angle at different amounts to produce VERY low frequencies. I've seen a video somewhere around that showed it, but I cant remember where... Most likely youtube, give me a min to see if I can find it.

  9. Ok, i work at Harkins theaters, its in Arizona.

anyhow today i was talking to one of my fellow managers and found out that our sound systems only do about 10,000 watts.

it just tripped me out because we have meade along with all these other dudes putting twice the watts in their whips.

    aghh!!

    tiaght!

10,000 is still ALOT of power. Alot of shops can put in amps that can put out that much power into subs, but also alot of the respectable work goes into the process for preparing the vehicle to handle that type of power consumption from the sound system.

  10. I would assume silicone can be alright, just BE SURE to let it cure and air out for a couple days before putting the subs in. Otherwise if you just would rather not take the risk use wood glue and rub it in the seams with your finger.

Pretty good thread, I wish I had someone giving all this information when I started out doing boxes about a year ago. ;) I had always just gone with screws every 5-6 inches because if the glue tried to budge ever the screw would keep that from happening.

I guess bottom line is, wood glue really is "tha sh!t" :good:

  11. Me and my son (5yrs old) just got back from watching it personally one of the best movies ever I wouldnt mind watching it again BUT Joker was more comical from what I remember which they should have put him as and not psycho the whole knife thing was bit to much for me.. I dont recommend taking young children my son covered his eyes everytime Joker would come out  I thought it was gonna be more of a family movie BUT The Joker messed that up and when Two Face comes out it spooked him too...Now after all that was said the movie kicked ass.....

    :clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping:

I rather liked the gruesome characteristics for him. The make up was nasty and dirty, hair style was gross. (The makings of an excellent joker)

Loved the movie, even though it took me a while to keep reminding myself who the katie holmes knockoff was supposed to be in the story line. Why couldn't they just have got Holmes to play the part again? At least keep things rolling with continuity.

  12. Dont listen to that asshat^^^^^^^ I see your still heading down the oneway street digital

if you use areo ports you could mount them to the outside of the box this way they dont take up any space on the box, it will look funny in your backseats but hell who cares as long as it pounds.

Haha, "asshat"... Haven't heard that yet.

    Classic! :D

  13. i want to stay with 4 10s the wood is 3/4mdf my bro n law made it not knowing what he was doing he made it hella big it sounded good with the shitty subs in it but he sold them and cant sell the box so i was going to take it and see what i can do with it being that its a very strong box.

3/4" ? eh, idk I'd try and add a little bracing along the long sections possibly where it could shift even just a tad.

Knowing that, the box is 5.1 cubic ft. IH8PunkRok is right, you're going to have a cube to play with still.
