  1. How big of strips? What color?

If you have an advanced autoparts in your area they carry some of the best LED strips I've yet to work with.

    http://www.optxbysg.com/ledaccenttubes.shtml

They are a little pricey, but they are the best quality LED strips I've yet to run accross and they respond well between the 10-15v range. All other brands of automotive LED's I've worked with either failed at 14.5v, or were just piss poor not bright. The optx line of LED's knows what it's all about.

  2. contact cement is best for this. spray it on both surfaces, the material and the peice your wrapping. wait for it to get tacky then apply it.

    Yep.

Although I've never done anything large enough to where I needed to pull out a spray gun, you shouldn't need one if you're doing something small.

The spray glue that vex was talking about would be very good for the surfaces as it doesn't build up as thick and you won't have to worry about the material being uneven.

Then I would use the contact cement around the edges and wrap around the back just to be safe.

You need me to take a look at this as well? ;)

  3. Just picked this up from the local bookstore, did some glancing through it and I have to say it's a very good book. Alot of things I'm pretty familiar with and have gone beyond, however it does have some good thoughts and very helpful diagrams and tips.

All in all I would say if you already have a VERY strong electrical background, then the book will atleast give you new tips and tricks and be a good reference. If you're just learning and don't have alot of background with vehicle wiring whatsoever, then this is a MUST. I've spent atleast 10 years learning all of the information in this book by trial and error, and to be honest if I had the book then, it would have saved me a decade of time with all of the information.

    I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Not to mention all the pictures throughout the book are full color and in EXCELLENT detail.

    Thanks for the reference Steve.

  4. Well, what she said about Rush happens to be true. He does in fact, expect and want Obama to fail.... He doesn't give a damn about anything other than being able to say " I told you so " to all of those that voted for Obama. He is way to right -ring biased. He has lost sight of the greater good of this nation, and just wants to be the know it all, " I am right - you are wrong" kind of guy.

Actually, Rush is right. Basically what the deal is, (and what the liberal mind is unable to comprehend) is that Rush doesn't want obama to fail, obama has already failed. It's already at a point where he is saying "I fucking told you so you stupid dumbasses, quit wasting the damn oxygen on yourself"

If obama's policies do succeed our nation will just be destroyed quicker than needed. As I've said before, we are screwed as it is, obama is just making it happen faster and making the impact greater than it should be. So therefore, yes it's good that Rush does wish that obama's policies fail, his interest is in the better of our nation. In his own words he said "I hope obama fails" there is no doubt about it, I know, I was listening the day he said it. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from americans, obviously some of us are a little slow when it comes to understanding what someone says, however I as well as many others knew exactly what he meant. None of us even paid two thoughts to it until someone who supported obama came along saying "hey he just said he wanted obama to fail, he's un american, he's a mean guy" Basically someone was just looking for something to rag on the other party. Think of it this way, guys, you know when a girl tells you "I love you" you can tell by the rest of how they are talking if they really do just love you, or if they're a fucking lunatic stalker wanting to tie you up and bake herself a cake out of your socks and underwear. It's just one of those things where you understand the whole picture of what someone says even when they just say 3-4 words.

Now I for one wouldn't have even considered putting things so nicely as Rush does when he speaks of obama and that's as far as I will go about our "great leader" as I wouldn't like to end up on an FBI watchlist. ;)

  5. Not a BIG country fan, but for some reason, I know more words to more country songs than anything!!!! I have this one CD that's got a couple of songs that just slap! One of them is Kevin Fowler--Beer,Bait, & Ammo, the other song IDK what/who, maybe I'll do a vid, and one of you COUNTRY listeners can tell me!

EDIT: The other song is " Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens " by Asleep At The Wheel. ( Try It! )

Beer, Bait, & Ammo is teh bomb.

On almost any given day you can find all three of them in my truck. ;)

  6. It's human nature to feed our minds with the violence and tragedy you see on the news these days. Seeing blood spilled, and the idea of evil amongst us is what sells.

Let's face it, I'll stop and take a glance at a newspaper cover that reads "Parent imprisoned for putting toddler in microwave" before I take a further look at "Rhode island 1st grader wins talent show by drawing a bunny picture"

The media knows this, they have tried it all to make sales, and it always comes back to the fact that people want to see evil.

  7. not to thread jack but do u guys think these r a good set?? http://cgi.ebay.com/9006-HID-Xenon-Headlig...%3A1%7C294%3A50

    No.

I've installed a set that are essentially the same as those, just a different "HID SUPER XENON" name, but same chinese junk factory. That big "HID BALLAST" is a joke.

They worked, they were just not very quality for the money you pay.

By the way, you don't need to say what your vehicle is to find the right HID conversion kit, most of the ones that specify your vehicle are flea market buys. Just know what bulb you need and look for quality.

These slim conversion kits are pretty nice.

  8. Can't use LED's for headlights just yet, however I would not be surprised if in the near future LED's become engineered for headlight use.

You can use LED's for indication lighting, for instance I've got LED's for my daytime running lights.

Steve has some similar to this as his DRL's and blinkers, and you can even use them for brake bulbs as well, basically it's an awesome alternative to the standard 3157, and 194 bulbs.

But as of right now you won't find any LED's suitable to replace your average 9006, and similar bulbs.

Go to sylvania's website and do a run of your vehicle and find what bulb you need, then try HIDgate on ebay, they are a pretty good store front for HID's.

Don't put HID's in your brights like some people do, HID's require a bit of time to warm up and if you use your high flash ever it can screw the HID's up after time because it wont give them time to properly warm up.
