  1. yea besides 300 ampers arnt for daily guys really ... they r more of a comp alt since u have to spin them faster to produce that higher output... an i just meant by the bash thread i didnt want people saying one or another company sux over another over just one alt test outta how many that r out there in service..iraggi mechman and the others all r good companys
  2. ok just so this doesnt become a bash thread or anything lets just post what alternator u have (amperage wise) how long has it been in service and what was ur method of testing output
  3. did u see any rotor rpm drop when u cranked on the load on the dyno?? i seen alittle more than a 100 rpm drop at idle with full load and at 2000rpm u could defently tell the alt was putting a pretty good load on the engine and tring to pull the rpm down..
  4. i have a 200 amp carbon pile pack adjustable load tester and i just turned on my headlights (20 amps) a/c with blower motor (30 amps) and the ignition systems draws 10 amps no stereo or wipers nothing that doesnt have a constant current draw... so 260 amps is as far as i could go to test with ..
  5. im pretty sure he said he tested them on a dyno ... which has some from of a carbon pile load device on them that can test full output of alternators..
  6. lol ohhhh shit here we go ....all i have experince with is mechman alts an i have a dyno sheet from him stating 156amps at idle and 254 at 2000rpm(on the rotor)... an from what my amp clamp and DMM states while slowly crankin up on the carbon pile load tester those numbers were slightly under rated from what i seen..liek mechman says he wont ship any alternator unless it puts out(unlike some woman) ANYWAYS .. im more than happy ... just wish he made multi alternator brackets..
  7. i agree with david but im a pretty forgiving guy for the first time i asked u to turn it down nicely ..IF i had to ask again i would have knocked ur face clean out ur ass.... be respectful of others with ur knock... think first!
  8. i think he is tring to find where to purchase those amps or someone that has them..
  9. what does the mosfets do excatly? an why do they blow like that.. what makes them blow?
  10. good luck on getting the job and im sure u'll get lots of opnions here and lots of help when ur ready to buy
  11. depends on what kinda power u can and want to spend .... btl's r beast but they r hungry for power... depending on if u run one amp or two i would go with the 2 ohms since the 1 ohm coils ur stuck with either a 5 ohm load or a 2 ohm load .... not very amp friendly imo...but first off where does ur big 3 stand?
  12. please dont go with that amp that amp wont produce not even close the amount of power needed for ust one btl....... go with atleast 2 sundown saz-3000's one on each sub dependin on what coils u got....
  13. nice stickin manee... i wanna hear some of that rock block next time lol
  14. sounds like a wonderful ground probem... most cars now days use about 10-20 main grounding points for various electrical systems.... if u can find a complete electrical diagram for ur vehicle and check them all... chiltons is what i use ... 19.99 from pep boyz on a cd-rom for the computer ... print out the diagrams and go fish lol u probly just vibrated a grounding point loose
  15. lol its like the cat is tring to find the print button
  16. lol hope its not a repost... but i think the printer took the fight in the end of round one lol http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...ideoid=42612906
  17. ... so what do u have for ampage and how long have u had them ?
  18. r u talking about belt squealing or the alternator bearings then selfs?? it took me 27 different belts and ALOT of paitence from advanced auto guys before i found the magical belt for me since the new alt came with a SUPER small pulley and was all most a 2 inch difference in belt length over the stocker
  19. mechman street beat 250 amp fit-10 finish-10 quality-10 relablity-10 (so far with 2 months on the clock) output-10+ pro's- adjustedabe voltage regulator, billet pulley and fan , ground stud along with the output stud for easy big 3 upgrade, 167 amps at idle (680 rpm) and 261 amps at 2000 rpm con's- none yet....
  20. good add i forgot to say that lol.... and every sub is different im using 2 dual 4 ohm subs in a parrallel and i get a 1.21 ohm load at the amp after my subtraction of my leads resistance
