  1. I'd like to see an clear amp rack, and use the DC audio logo to support it, kinda like legs on a table.. y'all understand..?
  2. I might not be getting this amp now.. hang tight.. I haven't heard them. To be honest I was thinking of free airing them just to see them move.... all I got now is a home stereo thats 300W.. and dual voice coil subs are something new to me.. I'm not sure how I'd wire it, but I'm learning as I go.
  3. I have one too... might go to the hobby shop and buy a plastic body and make a rolling chassis for it or something.
  4. BAh it'll bolt right in... I don't know when the engine is coming. The guy I'm getting it from is a truck driver, and he don't know when he will get a load up into canada.
  5. :shot: Oh boy... If I wasn't considering a engine swap at the same time i wouldn't be worrying bout this. but I dont think the 4cy will run 3 alts.
  6. Hmm. So I'd need two alternators (2x 200amp?) and a couple batteries to power it at .5 ohm?
  7. Might look into getting you to design a box for a blowthrough in a 94 s-series. bookmarked.
  8. I don't have it as of yet... I'll go look and see what power they make at 2 ohms...... hmm 1700 watts... well then...
  9. Yeah I had figured this. I wish there was a way to make a larger scale cargo van.
  10. Meh thats to expensive. Could run some SAZ-1500Ds strapped for that price.
  11. http://www.mach5audio.com/zen/index.php?ma...products_id=184 two of them.
  12. I did see those. I do have a 1:18 scale chevy silverado ext cab, so I might do a walkthrough in it... but the 2" ones that would fit the van, Fs is 90hz... its alot lower than the others, but would it be low enough?
  13. I can fit a 2" one. Problem is something that would play low enough... If the van was a 1:18 or 1:10 scale, I could fit a 4" one or larger.
  14. Hmm. I guess I could wire it to two ohm, as I have two dual 2s, or just try and find another one..
  15. I will most likely be getting a Orion 2500D. owners manual.. http://www.orioncaraudio.com/Support/Manua...ual%2047410.pdf What kind of electrical support would be required to run it at half ohm daily? I will be upgrading the alternator... just not sure what engine is going in my truck.. Would some extra fans or something be a good idea?
  16. I have a 1/24th scale Chevy Express cargo. I had planned on making a miniature SPL vehicle. I could not find a speaker that would fit in the van (would have to be a 2 inch sub). After watching the styrofoam plate speaker video that was posted here, got me thinking... Maybe I could make a custom lil' woofer to fit my application. I watched that video a few times and figured I could improve on his design a bit... So this is what I've come up with. Let me explain this now.. The Blue is the basket. As I won't be able to make a sub style motor, I will do something similar to what he had done in the video. however make it more like a real sub instead a bunch of cutlery and cardboard. I figured I can stack a few small magnets ontop of each other, and make a collar to support them at the bottom, and make it sturdy so the magnet won't move. The black cylinder attached to the basket, is the magnets/motor. The grey thing with all the gold stuff on it is the voice coil. It may not need as many turns on it as shown, but its just for illustrative purposes. The Black is the cone and surround. Haven't thought of what I could make the surround out of, would like to use foam like real subs but not sure what else I could use.. the cone will be treated paper. Missing from the rendering is a spider. Again not sure what I will make that out of. What do you guys think? I know its pretty dumb to some of you, but to me its a learning experience... Heres the youtube video if you guys never saw it. I'm hoping that this thing in a ported box will be able to play lower notes.. but it might not be possible... I may still do it anyway..
  17. I'm going to do a blowthrough on my truck... once I align the cab and the bed. Drew, your gunna have to assist me again with box design buddy. I'll have to get diemensions.
  18. When I opened the crate... haha i started giggling like a school girl... I was sooo excited you guys have no idea... hopefully they will make the truck go booom boom. Its not bad for my second system.
  19. Now to find an amp.. Got a few messages saying people will have amps for sale after the finals.
  20. Sorry guys, I had to help my dad go to the dump with carpets and stuff. There you guys go.
  21. Yeahhh.... I figured I'd mess with you guys.. I got it out of the box.. god damn... heavy SOB.
  22. I opened the box and expected to see a woofer (had to figure out how to get the box open...) I see this... More when I figure out how to get them outta the crate thingy.
