  1. Is this for your truck Harley? Let me know the max dimensions that you have to work with and I'll help you out on a box design. What kind of power are you planning on using for them? I can promise if you build it right you will be able to bassrace in 139.9 without any issues. I would love to help you get your ride louder. Just let me know if you want my help.

  2. lol....Your boy has what, 8-10 2608s? 20800 Watts RMS? The amps make around 2000 watts.

I know maxxsonics makes a couple amps under the hifonics name. I may have gotten them mixed up, or I may be wrong.

I never said the brutus was bad for the price it is. Its a good amp for the price, but 8twelves didn't mention anything about the price. If you can honestly say that the brutus is better than a rockford or a sundown, I wouldn't agree at all. If price isn't the issue, why go with something of a lower quality? If a 2607 fries with 2 15'' L7s, you don't think it'll fry with 8 cvrs? A 2607 will push the subs, but the amp will be running at 100% to push 250 watts into a sub that can handle around 5-600. So dude can get an amp that may overpower his subs, he may have to turn the gains down a little, but his shit will be slappin and will have a lot more SQ because the amp isn't putting a distorted, dirty signal to his subs.

On the other hand, he could throw 2 2608s in and it'll probably push his subs fine, but a RF 4000 will still put out more power and have more sound quality than a brutus...or 2 any day.

    Frozenbitches, I like your signature.

If your so fond of hifonics amps, why are you switching to kicker?

Reinke said that it was a good amp. He never said that it was better than a Sundown or a Rockford amp. A good majority of the Maxxsonics amps are made in Korea. Have you ever took the time to see where a Sundown amp is made too. You guessed it Korea! I have no idea where Rockford makes their amps nor will I act like I do. Next time you start to down a company learn a little bit about that company and you'll see that they follow the trends of the higher priced well know products too. Pound for pound and dollar for dollar Maxxsonics in general are the best power for their price range. Show me another amp that will last as long and push subs to their limit that isn't way over priced. You can't do it because they are in a class of their own.

  3. Well, I happen to know a guy at Powermaster that may be able to hook you up with a competitor discount if you tell him your intentions with your vehicle. You would have to let him know your current setup, intentions for competing, past competition history, stuff like that. He may offer to sponsor you and ask you to be on team powermaster. I can't promise anything, but if you want I'll give you an email that you can get at him at and tell him your situation. He may give you a discount and you can go from there. Let me know if you want and I'll pm you the details and information.

  4. That's awesome man. From another fellow Sundown owner I wouldn't give you a crappy brand of equiptment to purchase. I'm also considering getting two SAZ3000D's, but I think that I might be able to do over a 150 with just one at .25 ohms. Either way I'm also going to add another D3100 to my car. Actually that's the next upgrade I have in mind to do before the Db Drag World Finals. I've already got all my points and I'm just waiting for my invite now. I know you will love the D3100's in your ride. What does your electrical consist of? How many runs of 0 guage?

  5. They're gonna take a little bit of time to charge to full capacity. I reccomend using a trickle charge overnight to get them to top off. I've only had my D3100 on a charge once and just with my stock 105 amp alt charging it, it sits at 13.08 volts with the car off. If I let it charge it will sit at 13.56 volts with the car off. If it's just charging off the alt and nothing is playing it sits at 14.6 volts, and if it's been charged with everything off and the car on it will sit at 14.9 volts. If your looking to get a few D3100's at a decent price check out www.summitracing.com they have them at $299 each, but I heard that they were raising their prices on them to $349 each. Either way that's a hell of a battery for the price and also comparred to the price of the competitiors. This is one battery I would follow straight into hell if it asked me to.

  6. I don't even know why people list Kinetiks in the same sentence as Powermasters. I'm sure that all of you are familiar with the lawsuit that Powermaster has against Kinetik? Well long story short Kinetik was talking shit about Powermaster saying that Powermaster was using some of Kinetiks techknology. They attempted to sue Powermaster, and Powermaster countersued saying that Kinetik's batteries didn't do the listed power that they stated. Independent lab studies show that the Kinetik batteries aren't all they're cracked up to be. If you guys haven't knoticed all of the bigger name guys that have run Kinetik are switching to Powermaster. Hell, look what batteries Steve runs in the Tahoe. This shouldn't even be a question, just go with the Powermaster's. You will be happy with them. If you want to buy 70 pounds of battery that doesn't do what it says it will then buy a Kinetik.

  7. my amp does 1400 rms at 4 ohms and 700x2 at 2 ohms in stereo I have my sub wired at 8 ohms it's dual 4 ohm I was just wondering if this will hurt the amp at all or is it just gonna put out a little less power?

Why not just wire the coils in parallel and get a 2 ohm load and then run the amp in stereo at 2 ohms? Its going to get a whole lot more power and be a whole lot louder too. The only thing that may suffer a bit is sound quality, but that won't matter that much.

  8. Looks pretty good. Did you tell here not to mess with anything in the car as far as deck settings or amp gains? I installed a system for my sister when she was 16, and when all here stupid ass little punk boyfriends would ride in the car they would crank the bass on the deck. It really pissed me off cause I told here not to touch anything since it was my equiptment and I didn't want anything broken. I told one of the little bastards if he touched the deck again I was gonna break his fucking fingers. It never happened again.

  9. Big boy... more like little girl. No seriously I was at Jacob's shop the other day and I got to see one of these things in person and it was massive. He didn't have one with a cone on it due to the fiberglass former cover coming off of the one he had ready. I did see Brandon playing around with one doing something to it though. I can't really recall exactly what he was doing but it was something for sure. Jacob, if you want to see what one of these beasts can do on a meter I'll offer my car up as a testing vehicle to see if a better number is possible out of it. The Focus meters pretty well. I think that I might have also found out what was wrong with it the other day too. The box happened to come unscrewed from the mount on one side and moved closer than 4" away from the back of the hatch. That may have made the difference we saw in spl out of it. The side that moved closer was almost 3" away from the back of the hatch instead of 4". I talked to quite a few competitors and they said that in a street vehicle like mine that a little movement like that could definately account for .8dbs. Not to mention the vehicle being uncharged. If it's cool with you I'd like to come over again some time and see what it can do charged with the box back in the location it is supposed to be in.
