I'd get the 3K amp, it's always better to have more than not enough. Good luck finding a 3K amp for $450

Okay, since meeting up with Travis and Eric, I have changed my mind and will try to cram 4 SA-12's in the back of my Camry. My question is with powering 2 of the 1500D's. Will a 180 anp alternator be enough? I'll have a 75 Ah AGM battery up front and a 55 Ah AGM battery in the trunk

My previous set up was tuned to 34Hz and my SA-12's tuned at 30Hz is louder, the first time I metered it I was loudest around the 40-42Hz area. I have yet to find something that will make these subs sound bad (except maybe country western music)

I got a video on YouTube, Type in "Sundown Vid.2" I recently lost the spoiler off my Camry thanks to my SA-12's. The last pair of 12's I had can't come close, I am running a SAZ-1500D, and it sounds great. My box is 3.5 cubes tuned to 30Hz.

i still want to hit higher notes.. like 3 6 mafia etc, i dont listen to just decaf and c&s lol
Trust me, the SA-12's don't miss a beat. Now I don't listen to Three 6 Mafia but I guarantee you that I have put mine to work and these things don't quit.

I have 2 and I can't get that high, I must be doing something wrong. Well first thing I need more power
-
Tune it to 30Hz and then listen, You won't be disappointed

It hurts to be a 49er's fan, WTF happened to this team?

Those subs should be just fine. My SA-12's are only rated at 600 watts each. As far as electrical goes, I would just watch your voltage. Since I'm not competing right now I only have a stock alt (90 amps) and battery up front and it's fine.

Cobalts aren't bad. They were Orion's entry level sub. I used to run 2 of the Cobalt 12's years ago. As for a 10" I would run between 150-200 watts each and let 'em play!

Now is that motor the turbocharged V-6 or the V-8?

I love what I see coming from Sundown Audio. What I don't like is everything is too damn good. Just when I make my mind up on a new build what does the Mad Scientist of SPL do? he develops something new and I have to go back to the drawing board. Just keep up the good work Jacob

Well I know that the SA-12's are beasts. My first time out I did 1 142.3 in a trunk car, my best is a 143.4 running off a SAZ-1500D at 1 ohm clamped at 936 watts. That's Midwest SPL score, I had to keep the amp @ 1000 watts.

Pretty cool SA series are surprisingly tough "little" woofers !
The SA series are amazing, you truly hit a grand slam with these Jacob. It's going to be hell to design a SA-12v.2

You can't go wrong with Sundown

Okay, while we're on the topic, where did "Sundown Audio" come from?
-
Well I can wait a few days, send me a pm when it's done

Okay I'm looking to upgrade from the SA-12's to the new Z12's. I'm going to be powering them with a SAZ-3500D. My concern is designing a new enclosure. I have a slot ported enclosure (3.5 cubes tuned to 32Hz) I would like a ported enclosure using aero ports. My current enclosure measures 36" x 19" x 17". I would like to keep it around that size, any ideas would be appreciated.

Time to test some amps and subs

Christmas in August, Hot Damn

I wish I could squeeze 2 more into the Camry
-
Jacob you really are the mad scientist of SPL, you remind me of Gary and Wyatt on that movie "Weird Science"
-
And here's some pics of Sundown VS Sony (no competition here ;D)
That's true, when it comes to paperweights, Sony is near the top of the list

Power for 2 1500D's

Yeah, I'll be running both amps at 1 ohm
