It's the same connection. Running it off the alt makes it a straight run. Because normally you go from alternator to battery. So this is just keeping the engine bay less cluttered. I only have one battery in the back, but it's going directly from my battery up front. Should I change it and connect it straight to the alternator (300 amp), or will it make a difference?

Hey Steve...I know it's a noob ? and all, but why not run your rear batteries straight off of the front one? Why from the alternators?
