I freaking HATE snow ! Snow is wet, cold, fucking bull shit !
Here in my immediate area, we get like 1/2 an inch, every 10 to 20 years.... and that's 1/2 an inch more than I need. Now, I can actually drive up to the Sierra mountains (only a few hours away), any time during the Winter, and get into major footage of that BS...... But I could also shoot a nail gun through my foot, for fun like that. WTF ?
Oh.... did I mention that snow sucks ?
Have a nice day

I was going to mount a deer once..... But I was afraid it might get pissed off, and stick me with it's horns Maybe if I shot it first...... ?

As the name implies, I'm a lot more of a trophy 'fish' kinda' guy....
But I know enough about hunting, to know that THAT is one hell of a trophy deer !
Hats off to the hunter who bagged that one !

Yes, thanks guys.
Now, as a benefit to reducing enclosure sizes, I'm wondering how this would work in a transmission line build ??? As in > 2 18"s that only require 10 cubes total, instead of 20 cubes X's two ! Because 10 cubes I can swing.... 40 cubes is out of the question
Thanks again guys,
Good info,

...or seen this done ?
> Alright, so say a guy can afford more / bigger subs than he can fit in his ride, and he has plenty of power too... just not much space...
What about running subs mounted face to face, with one wired out of phase ? I've read that this will basically give you the surface of one of the subs, but the motor strength of both.... and a guy can still say he's running 4 15"s, even though he only needs the airspace for 2 {or maybe even less.... wouldn't swear on that}
Anyway, from what I have heard this can work very well..... and all of the speaker parameters {F's, Q's etc} can be easily re-figured out. I think a couple are doubled, and a couple are halved...
Come on, re-teach my senile old arse LOL
Peace,

Ya' know Sanitarium, I personally didn't think your reply was so negative. I pretty much of agree. I mean, if the OP has so much money, that it just doesn't even matter, that's all fine. But generally speaking, people usually do start out with smaller, cheaper equipment, and then by the time they get all of that stuff dialed in, they are totally ready to move up to the big, expensive stuff,
Heck, if you can make smaller, cheaper stuff sound good, you KNOW that stepping up to SMD subs (or similar), and several Kwts is going to be redonculous !

100 square inches of port for 14 cubes?
keep lurking, you have a SHIT TON more to learn before jumping into the deep end with that high end of equipment.

Thanks guys
Orion, maybe some day..... But I'd have to catch him again for that, as I sent that one swimming, after the catch.
I'm actually pretty picky about the fish I eat. Personally, I think Stripers make better sport fish than they do food fish. Of course if I were hungry.... Wait a minute, "I'm freaking hungry as hell" !!! ....but that's on purpose. I'm on a cut cycle right now. Only about 6 more lbs to go, before I can get back to a very slow bulk.
This skimpy arse 3300 cals a day SUCKS ! 4000 is better. Wish I needed 5000
Peace,
Fish
You gonna eat him?

Thanks Mario. I caught it in the Montezuma Slough, near Suisun CA. But hey, seeing as this was only my first trip this season, and with a week of colder weather coming up, it could be REALLY on next week !!! Whooo Hooo ! Come on 40+ !
Peace,
Fish
thats a nice a$$ fish where did you go? i caught a 15 pounder not to long ago at San Luis Resivor

Geez, I swear it's been so long since I went fishing (about 12 weeks), I was afraid I'd forget how
But after an extended break, it sure felt good to stick a 12, a 13, and this 20.6 lb Striper today Had two more hooked up, which came off + several hits, all in only about 5 hours of actual Striper fishing.
Then, this guy tried to land on my bald head. Must have looked like a landing pad, from half way across the bay Of course it got the quick brush off, but it landed in my boat, then just walked around checking everything out, before it finally flew off about 2 hours later....

We just feed our 110 lb German Sheperd, Gold Lab mix > burglers, crack heads, lot lizards, etc LOL

Hmmmm....
Okay, how about this >
Take any, old beater car. Rip off the inside door panel. Use some sort of tape to cover all areas that will be deadened. This will make it WAAY easier to remove the deadener, after testing is finished for each brand. Blue painters tape would be great, but that $#!+ is expensive !
Set up the term lab in the car (like maybe in the seat, right beside the sound deadened door) and get busy.
Obviously you would need to play the same stuff (probably test tracks, and frequency sweeps), at the same volume, for each test.
Now of course doing all this would be a TON of work for somebody like myself..... But if you already owned a shop, and a termlab, it doesn't sound too tough at all to me.
Hmmmm,

Cashdollar, thanks man ! That bass certainly sounded deeper. But I do really like the faster beat too.
I'm going to play with audacity, and see if I can figure this stuff out.
Peace,

Actually, I do have audacity, but I'm not really great with it. If it can replace certain frequencies with lower ones, I sure don't know how..... or even how to boost stuff without clipping {when it's already close to maxed out}.
I need like a tutorial for audacity....
Thank you.
Fish
Download these if you haven't and have some fun with them, you'll be able to do almost everything you want and more.

So, if any of you 1) like the song, and 2) know how to do a good / proper bass boost (meaning, you won't get carried away and drown out the actual tune... or push it to clipping)
I'd really love to hear it, and would appreciate it greatly.
BTW, besides just boosting the bass, I think there is a way to "replace" the frequency of which the bass hits hits, with a lower frequency ? 32-34hz would probably be great. Not sure what it's hitting as it is recorded ?
Anybody ? Bless me with your skilz plz

Pretty cool. I'm into pretty much anything high tech. My friend / neighbor is a pro DJ, and I'm sure he would like this too

Well of course you know it's not the "original" original. That came out in 1973 and IMPO, it still sounds really good after 40 years. I'm sure the recording sucks.... but still: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgcYfKw0_TI
But anyway, so far as I know, this is "Emalkay's original remix" of the 1973 song, and I just have to tell you this>
After Steve and I got my system dialed in, on "most" well mixed tracks, I can boost my bass plenty enough with the bass control knob only, while the sub level is almost always at "0", but with this 1 particular song, I have to actually go down to -1, or even minus -3, with my bass knob at 12 to 2 o'clock.
Of every song I have in my collection, this song is the very last one to need a bass boost.
Peace,
Fish
Nice song! From what it sounds like on my weak computer setup, I'm sure it's great. Is that the original, or has it been boosted?
-
WHAT !?!? Nobody ? Don't be freakin' scared What do we have here... a bunch of girly boys ? LOL
Fish
You can call this whatever genre you want to. I think it would be closest to a techno remix....
But what an awesome remix it is ! You guys will LOVE this recording Tons of LOUD DEEP bass !
Peace,
Fish

Kinda' surprised, but I have to believe you.
I bet it hits like a MF in your ranger then, huh ???
But yea', I wished they either carried that note longer, or used it more often in the song. Might be kind of cool to replace several other deep notes in the song, with this one But I "wouldn't want the whole song bass boosted" per say. This recording has plenty enough bass to max out my system as it is.
Peace,
Fish
My ranger peaks at 32 and plays down to 27
Just played that track and the low note seems around 32-33
Not under 30 thats for sure

Kranny, hey when I was a kid, I had an uncle in Minnesota, who had several snowmobiles. We rode the $#!+ out of them, and yea', they were a blast. The snow still sucked LOL but come on, anything with a motor and steering, is going to be a kick in the ass, right ?
Peace,
