  1. Well that does not sound fund to test. Haha. Is the usual test to find a drain still connecting a volt meter to the negative terminal and then start pulling fuses? I have heard lots of different ways to look for electrical draws.

Is there a somewhat easy but effective means for testing this sort of thing?

specifically you can go right down the line with a dmm till you find it/ isolate it. My guess is it is low enough to not really requirer a high amp ampmeter.Personally this more or less sounds like a show/summer vehicle and it would be VERY easy for you to install small maintaining chargers on each cell. In any case I still would talk to Kinetik to see what they say.

  2. Well right now, the only thing hooked up in the car is the factory computer, factory clock, my aftermarket headunit, headrest monitors, aftermarket alarm(unarmed) and my compressors. I have the wire off the pressure switch so they can't turn on, the radio and headrest monitors are all off as well. The truck would be the factory radio, factory computer, the Accel DFI, and the aftermarket alarm(unarmed).

Do electronics pull that much juice when they are turned off? Not saying the Optima is a better battery. I know it is not. Just found it funny that it has sat for 2 years hookedup and still has juice, and the 3 Kintetiks sat for 5 months and are that drained down. LOL.

My vehicle sat outside for all winter no starting for 3 months nothing disconnected and it still started fine, and it has a kinetik. IIRC still read over 12.8v. Something in your car drained your batteries from what I can tell.

  3. I find it a little funny that my truck battery has been sitting for over 2 years in the truck, and still had a decent charge. And thats a cheap Optima. LOL.

Does your truck have the same stuff hooked up to it? If you went to the corvette forums and tried to say an optima lasts 2 years sitting under the hood you would be bludgened. What is all hooked up in the vehicle with issues?

  4. so what u think about the kinetik 16v batt i see u can run it without the stepdown module but is it better than the 16v power master batt and the step down module ? which one it the safe way?

By the time you get 2 or three modules maybe more to run your car you would have the money to run a stock alt along with the higher voltage alt. That is by far the best way to do it.
  5. That is how I understand it as well. Scottie said that he should not have returned 2 good batteries, which would imply that the batteries were not at fault and were providing proper power to the amps. The OP said they were maintaining a full charge, so unless that is wrong, I stand behind my statements.

If he had 2 D1200 that were maintaining a charge as he said, and XS says they are rated to supplement 3000W RMS each battery (6000W RMS total), and Scottie insists that they were good batteries, he was only running around 3000W RMS total, how else could this have happened? Twice?

    I agree with you.
