  1. What was the resting voltage of the battery before and after you charged it?
  2. http://smartercharger.com/ctek-multi-us-7002/
  3. I charged it at 7 amps at 14.5 to 14.7 volts. It took a little while to charge up out of the box about 40 minutes. It didn't stay in full charge for much more than 10 minutes the rest of the time was in the last stage. I kept it on float for about an hour as well. Thanks for the advice.
  4. Thanks just checking because I read they can rest at 13.2 and now its at 12.79. Trying to make sure it will be ok to install in the spring time.
  5. When my charger said it was done it was resting at 13.22 volts after 4 days it is resting at 12.8 volts is that ok?
  6. Depends on the resting voltage when you get it or if it has sat for 6 months. If it is at 12.6 volts or under it needs a refresh charge with a charger that can charge to the performance curve of figure 1.2 in the instructions that came with it.
  7. Both are good as with any battery you have to keep them charged up with either a solid enough alt for your project and or a good charger for them. Listening to a 4500ish watt system loud most of the time to where the vehicle is falling apart can yield a bad less than 1 year old stockish battery under the hood that won't charge past 12.4 volts and a 4000+ watt battery with slight ballooning that won't charge past 12.7 when it use to charge up to 13. The system is about 1 year old or a little more. Thinking it has a 3 year warranty but I doubt it would be covered because a ballooning battery is an overcharged battery..
  8. Wet cell battery should stay at 12.5 and above and your kinetiks should stay above 12.7 volts. Sounds like the batteries are under charged. Get a charger like a Ctek 7002 and charge the front independently from the rear. That charger is fully regulated for all types of car batteries and can fix some of the bad things that can happen from being under charged.
  9. thats what happens to a battery that is over charged.
  10. If it is left at a low charge it can. When batteries discharge they sulfate and the longer it stays sulfated the harder to recharge they can get. Also the hotter a battery is kept the more it will self discharge.
  11. You can not just use the 12 volt post on a 16 volt battery. It has to be charged on the 16v post and it wont charge on 14 volts.
  12. 12.8 volts to around 13, and buy your self a ctek 7002
  13. just get the alt and battery checked, most places do this for free or minimal charge.
  14. Wouldnt it be better to put the alt directly to the back batteries and run a ground from the back batteries to the alt bracket?
