Not a Happy Customer.

What was the resting voltage of the battery before and after you charged it? -

few questions about D3100..
soundzright replied to Craig28's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
Depends on the resting voltage when you get it or if it has sat for 6 months. If it is at 12.6 volts or under it needs a refresh charge with a charger that can charge to the performance curve of figure 1.2 in the instructions that came with it. -
hc2400 vs d3100?
soundzright replied to bass_addict07's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Both are good as with any battery you have to keep them charged up with either a solid enough alt for your project and or a good charger for them. Listening to a 4500ish watt system loud most of the time to where the vehicle is falling apart can yield a bad less than 1 year old stockish battery under the hood that won't charge past 12.4 volts and a 4000+ watt battery with slight ballooning that won't charge past 12.7 when it use to charge up to 13. The system is about 1 year old or a little more. Thinking it has a 3 year warranty but I doubt it would be covered because a ballooning battery is an overcharged battery.. -
Wet cell battery should stay at 12.5 and above and your kinetiks should stay above 12.7 volts. Sounds like the batteries are under charged. Get a charger like a Ctek 7002 and charge the front independently from the rear. That charger is fully regulated for all types of car batteries and can fix some of the bad things that can happen from being under charged.

thats what happens to a battery that is over charged.

Installing some new batts.. NEED HELP!!
soundzright replied to REaudioBuff's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
You can not just use the 12 volt post on a 16 volt battery. It has to be charged on the 16v post and it wont charge on 14 volts. -
Brand new Kinetik ?
soundzright replied to typicaljawaiian's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
12.8 volts to around 13, and buy your self a ctek 7002 -
is this a battery or alternator problem???
soundzright replied to Ji553r's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
just get the alt and battery checked, most places do this for free or minimal charge. -
Is this correct?
soundzright replied to LoudNLow931's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Wouldnt it be better to put the alt directly to the back batteries and run a ground from the back batteries to the alt bracket? -

how do you connect multi batteries?
soundzright replied to CNF Kevosinn's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Wouldn't running the ground up front actually complete the ciruit with the charging system without having to worry about how condutive the materials in the car's construction are? No worry of alloy bolts or poor to no conducting alloy/plastic/rubber pieces in the vehicle. -

Thats what about 11,300 watts? I would think he would need more alternator and batteries. -

Are these the Cadence ZRS series amplifiers? If so that is a ton of power for a 240 amp alt. -
Which batteries to go with
soundzright replied to TeejayBee's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Looks like amazon has some kinetik HC2400's for 277.83 shipped -
so the d3100 will provide 300 amps of power longer than 4 group 31 walmarts getting drained 75 amps each? That would be 440 ah @ 300 amps or 75 amps per 110 ah vs 300 amps on a single 110ah d3100. Wouldn't the 4 batteries be less likely to get caught up in a failure or thermal runaway condition? Notices all the answers they give ignore the 300 amps the 1 battery will have to provide even with the engine on.

So the 4 walmarts would indeed last longer vs 1 d3100 in a set up with a 200 amp alt and 5000 watt amp? Just saying if this is based on a 1 or 2 battery system I do not know of many people (if any) with 2 alts running 1 or 2 batteries as you would need 2 250 amp alts to produce 500 amps for the 5000 watts. So for a 5000 watt system with 1 alt it would seem you would run into a low capacity situation just using the 1 d 3100. Wouldn't you run into the same type of situations with 4500 and 4000 watt set ups?
