  1. Thanks guys, that's kind of what I expected to hear. I don't think I'll be trying 0.5 ohms anytime soon. Besides 1600 watts is pretty brutal as it is. (although its never loud enough for me ; ) I'm not too worried about the Havocs. Giving 3000 to the pair would be just a tad over rated RMS anyways, as they're rated for 1250 RMS each.
  2. I've got my SAZ-3000D running at 2 ohms on my two 15" Havocs and have been more than pleased with the performance. Because my subs are DVC 2 and i have 2 of them, wiring to 1-ohm isn't an option, so I went with 2. A few people from other forums have mentioned this amp is fairly stable down to 0.5 ohms, even though it voids warranty and isn't technically supported. I'm wondering what the success/failure rate has been with people trying to do this. Secondly would I notice a significant improvement? I don't compete, or meter, I'm more of a street beater As far as electrical I've got a 250A HO alt, yellow top under the hood and a Kicker HC1800 in the back.
  3. Not to mention you see TONS of DD amps in the street competition scenes where guys push them to their limits (and often beyond) I'm not sure if there's any other company I can think of which is more popular in the competition scene..
  4. I don't love recommending Kicker but they make a sub for your needs, the 8" dual-4 ohm CVR, it's cheap too. They make another ohm load too, not sure exactly what you're after. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3412_Kicker+05CVR84.html For the same price you could run a JL 8" W1, single 8-ohm. This would be my choice. There's also a W3 for a bit more coin. And the 8" W7 for a lot bit more coin. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_15352_...io+8W1v2-8.html
  5. Being in a higher class doesn't necessarily make YOUR vehicle louder, it just means you will be up against stiffer competition. (if you choose to compete that is)
  6. I once read about some guy who actually decided to see how far these guys would go and responded. If I remember, he ultimately got them to send HIM $20 or so, promising he would send the $1500 fee after he got it. It was pretty clever, scamming the scammers...
  7. Your truck should have the 100 amp alt in it stock, which, even with a decent size battery wont keep your voltage up too long with those amps. You can get a few large batteries but you'll need to charge them every now and then with an external means, most likely. The HO alt is the right idea. I believe that Sonoma should fit an AD244 alt off a fullsize GM truck, check this link out: http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f27/how-to-h...or-80-a-376788/ If that works it should power those amps perfectly. If not, you can go with an aftermarket HO alt. I would recommend a basic 200A model unless you plan on getting much larger amps down the road. Adding an extra battery would certainly not hurt either!
  8. Thanks, but looking for Havocs as the title says. I'll try nick..
  9. I've got two 15" Havocs in a 9 cube box, tuned at about 38Hz and running off about 1600 watts and its LOUD. Blurred vision, vibrates your throat, flexes the **** out of the roof, etc. . . I have no idea what numbers it puts up but it's pretty dang loud, I think you'd be impressed with twice the power. I've got a SAZ3000D on my two, but I'm running it at 2 ohms hence 1600 watts, should be loud with a full 3kW!
  10. As title says, I'm looking for (2) dual-2 ohm 15" Havocs, new or used but not abused. Have refs on ROE. Lets see what you got people!
