Ya. I think even you paying shipping there and return would be fair for them to repair the sub. But after waiting for them to send it off get it repaired send it back and all that head ache Id just want to move on and count my losses unless you can get them to refund the warranty difference you paid. This is why I either buy from the authorized people or just go fleabay on it and take a chance with it. 1 or the other no inbetween for me. Third party warranties are bullshit in my opinion so I never expect them to hold up. Goodl uck gettin your mom to break you off with that bread man. ;-)

Lol. I wouldnt wall socket it unless your drunk with your buddies and intend on usingthe sub as a paper weight. lol. They could tell that your sub was connected to a 110 wall socket and not an amp. But I would call them and see if they warrant it. If not buy a new sub or have fun with that one. Buying the recone kit from kicker or a 3rd party and trying to rebuild it yourself as a learning experience isnt realy a bad idea.

Ya if it kept getting hot and smelling you probley got a warped coil. This is exactly why I sold my l7s a few weeks back and bought something with an aluminum coil. Unplug the sub man and push lightly in the center on the kicker symble and if it makes that scratch noise your coil is rubbing the wall. I know your not going to want to hear this but unless you bought the sub from kicker with a warranty there going to charge you an arm and a leg to trade that one in for a new one. When I thought I F-ed one of my 8" l7s up they told me it would be $150 a sub plus my old one. Shit for that I could have plugged it into a wall bought another one off of ebay and pocketed about $50. I only paid $80 apiece for mine so it wasnt worth it. Long story short. Unless its under warranty. Buy a new sub or subs. :-/ Good luck man. Sorry for the bad news.

Iv got the new deh-p5000ub and I have this small alt. whine. Its not in the door speakers but coming off of my highs amp. I thought it was the rcas being to close to the power cable but now there on opposite sides of the car and i still get a small wine. Im gonna try this when I get the chance to night and let yall know how it goes. Seems to be the preouts. Hmmm. I know model from last year did the same thing too. well see. Let me knwo results if you guys get any.

As far as your amps go they are to small. Those 4 subs can take a good 1500rms easy. I would sell them and go with one big one.

I would have tuned it a bit lower but the box looks pretty good. I wouldnt mount the amps to the box though. My 4 l78s shoock my sundown to death almost. I took my amps off and now there on the backside of my back seat. Not touching the box. Just an idea but keep up the good work man.

Sundowns wil get hot at 0.5ohms on a daily driving car. There is a reason jacob doesnt warant them at 0.5ohms any more. They only recommend 0.5ohms for burps. As far as a 1.3ohm load on 2 saz-1500ds strapped with a 2ohm stability Im not sure how hot it will get. Im only stating that Jake nore db-r will warrant running them lower than the recommend ohms stability.

Hifonics Brutus BXi 2008D. About the only decent budget amp I can think of in your price range other than buying a used amp someone wants to part with for a good price. Keep it in mind the Hifonics are abit over rated though

You need atleast a 1ohm stable amp and if you strap 2 saz-1500ds together it has a 2 ohm load wich meens there gonna start getting hot pretty quick unless you turn them down. Im guessing this is a daily driver. I would go with the saz-3000d but your onlygonna be getting probley a bit over 2500. This is good though so you dont fry the kapton voice coils in the l7s. Over powering them is not smart. 0.02 :-)
