It would be cheaper to buy my next build from me

IDK we will see man.

Have you scoped the amp? signal seeming fine and being a clipped wave is much different.
-
Also verify there is not a problem with the amplifier signal.

My level 4s get smelly only when iclip them and even on only 3kw for the 4 its obvious when they are clipping not only is clipping audible it heats up the subs very very fast. The motors can be cool but the coils can be very very hot. Also if you are bottoming out your subs by playing below tuning i have had this get subs hot also, or if the subs are not moving they are not cooling very well either.

Dont let one instance change your mind, this alt was made 2 years ago and is in a vehicle notorious for having a terrible aftermarket alternator. Ford 4gs are junk.
I just want to know what my options are since i have honestly had trouble every time i have tried to use this alt. Im even willing to send it back and add some money to get an upgrade or just a better alt.

Everything is in good shape i just think maybe the rectifier is bad or the regulator is not comunicating with the computer not letting it "ramp" up the voltage at idle?
I really need this fixed. I would hate to throw it away and pay big bucks to have a company make me an alt.

I purchased a 250A alternator from you about 2 years ago, the first show i took it to within 5 minutes i had no charging at idle (bad diode) so i sent it in for repair, and tore the entire stereo out of my vehicle in fury.
I then ran a 4kw amp on the original 130A factory alt, with no issues, i finally put the 250A mechman alt back in that was freshly repaired and the vehicle was parked while i played with my jeep. I have been driving the explorer with no cd player at all since the repair. We hook up a powerbass 4k at 2 ohm to the vehicle with plenty of 2/0 runs with plans to just test the enclosure on around 2kw.
Within half a block the alternator light was on and i would lose voltage at idle (12. While playing i never saw below 14.5V and it literally got 2 bass notes and 1 drum kick in. The alternator currently charges at 2000ish rpms approximately 14.5V but the battery light is still on. Is this a bad rectifier? If sitting at idle with nothing on it slowly comes down to 12.8V.
What are my options? I also called and left a message monday, and have since called to get through but have not left another message.
Is there something inherently wrong with the 4g ford alternator? Have you revised this design?
I would love for this to get repaired but if i could just get a decent price on a updated design i would much rather do that. Hell even a 220A that works would be nice.
I have also had similar issues with a toyota corolla where the alternator would fail on a 2kw amp. It had been sent in 2-3 times before the car was crashed.

I hate to say it but if those audioquaps are louder than your dc's youve got work to do
Wall it

moar coneeeeeeeeeeeee

looks like its begging to become a 6th order

You could do a very nice morel setup with that huge budget.

Thanks for delivering my head unit ups.

Having direct swapped level 3s in for level 2's the level 3 will sound better all around. It has a much deeper sound to it. Worth every penny over the level 2 as you get a HELL of alot more.
You will notice a difference and again its worth every penny.

Anyone care to mention enclosure, i could fry a XL in about 1 minute flat off a 2000W amplifier....IF ITS NOT MOVING
DEPENDS ON YOUR ENCLOSURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The xl does not have alot of cooling built into the motor, as long as the sub is moving, the coil is cooling, even better inverted or in a box with good airflow.
Just because you have 2000W clamped doesnt mean your getting anymore output than 1000W clamped. TL, Voltmeters, and a proper enclosure should be addressed before you try to play 5000W+ to a single sub.

With dual stiff spiders, level 5 coils and dual leads i have had very very good luck with level 4 15's. I would not give them more than 1kw rms without the upgrades. I have put a real 2000w RMS on each of the 4 15's daily and had no issues.
Bump an old vid.

I am considering making a trip down to pickup a truckload of these between me and a friend we need 8, anyone else in norcal want some?
I can get deka 9a31's through carquest for 187$ these will save a slight amount of money but its a much longer drive, only worth taking a truck if people are interested and serious. Lets see who is.
