  1. And I am very worried about voltage drop as a plan to run my saz at .5 ohm cause my woofers are dual 4's and I have been told to do this I need a strong electrical system so if I were to just run batts which I won't now anyway I would wire it to 2 ohm until I get a new alt.

See this makes the worlds of difference in your statement. No, batteries would not be enough at this point, unless you do 2 ohm and in that case, you are ok until the alt arrives.

Good to see they have an alt though.

  2. can you take a video of you doing this i would love yo watch you fry your amp, subs and batts all at the same time. That would make my day watching that. Make sure you have a volt meter next to you so i can see how low it actually gets before something starts smoking.

Explain? Instead of making a remark as such, try explaining to him why. Oh wait, you were born an expert. lol :pardon::P

I'd like to see why him doing this is any different than a number of people out there doing the same. As long as the thing isn't abused and is recharged properly, the only thing to go will be the stock alt from working harder longer to try to maintain a proper charge on all the batteries. Playing full tilt for a long period of time would be bad, which in case poof. Therefor, a vid is necessary. :ehh:

I might not have been born a expert i sure wasnt born a dumb ass so i know better than to ever do such a thing.

Anyone who thinks you can run a system just off batteries alone for a daily application is retarded. It doesnt take much common sense to realize that you when you beat your voltage drops and to recharge what you discharged you are going to need a contest charging source to get your voltage back where it needs to be. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

Well, he did ask, right? I'm not disagreeing it's a bad idea, but if someone asks, then there's a slight chance they may not know. Plus, he did say moderate use lol. :ehh:

Shit, he may only be running the amp at 2 ohms if he has 4 4ohm subs, but then again, if he is asking this, he may not wire it for the right impedance and go .5 and if it is 2 ohms, then stock alt and an extra battery isn't bad (1200 RMS). Too many variables.

  4. According to his "shop intro" here on SMD, he owns Savage Customs and does all the work out of his garage.

OP....how much are you out if you were to put a cash replacement value on it? In some states there is a fine line between felony and misdemeanor depending on the value of the item(s). And he (Chris Lun) has openly acknowledged having your property in his possession, and he has also admitted he had noy yet held up his end of the deal. So, I wonder if you might have some kind of legal recourse in this situation?

    Penalties for Theft

Amount Classification Penalties Less than $50, or less than $20 if by check Class C misdemeanor A fine of not more than $500 $50 or more but less than $500, or $20 or more but less than $500 if by check Class B misdemeanor Not more than 180 days in a county jail and/or a fine of not more than $2,000 $500 or more but less than $1,500 Class A misdemeanor Not more than 1 year in a county jail and/or a fine of not more than $4,000 $1,500 ormore but less than $20,000 State jail felony 180 days to 2 years in a state jail and/or a fine of not more than $10,000 $20,000 or more but less than $100,000 Third-degree felony 2 to 10 years in a state prison and/or a fine of not more than $10,000 $100,000 or more but less than $200,000 Second-degree felony 2 to 20 years in a state prison and/or a fine of not more than $10,000 $200,000 or more First-degree felony 5 to 99 years in a state prison and/or a fine of not more than $10,000

  6. He does not have big 3 done but does have 0awg power and ground. I would have liked to wire them at I higher ohm load but I couldn't fid another way to wire 6 4-ohm single voice coil subs. Iirc I think each sub has about 1.8-1.9 cubes. Dimensions are 49w by 28 d by 21h double baffled top piece. Port is 7h by 20w by 18d on the bottom middle of the box, I used Torres' calc. If I can figure a way to

Post pics on my iPhone I will if not I'll have to wait till I get home.

LoL..I swore I read 4 12s. It may have been the plethora of numbers together lol. F it, I'm going to bed now.

  7. so you can buy 2 sundown 3000s 2 mayhems all this other equipment batteries 2 alts and you cant get a dd1 or an o scope?

Soooo you don't have to be a douche for 1. Secondly I haven't gotten around to buying a dd-1 yet, or my H/o alts, head unit, good 4 channel, mids and highs, rest of batteries, wire, suspension, wheels, etc. I'm still in the middle of my build, basics are done now i'm upgrading. Amps are turned 3/4 of the way up. and all levels on head unit are 0 or below to prevent clipping the best I could.

A dd-1 is something I would use once and then it would sit in the shed for a long time. Kind of a waste of money since I don't do anyone elses builds. So it is not high on my priority list.

There is a topic to where you can see who has one near you. Regardless if you only use something once, what would you rather do? Spend 140 for a dd-1 or new subs over and over? I bet one sub costs more than the dd-1?!?!?!

Basics aren't buying 6k watts and subs, a few batteries then asking why you smell coil. There are no basics at that point of the game. 4-channel, mids highs, deck are more of 'basics'
