  1. It is a hyundai accent and I will post the scores legal on the dash and outlaw in the kick after the next show but remember this box was not designed to put up #s even though it does but I am giving everyone before and after #s because for finals the sub will be in a burp box and should do a whole lot better on the mic but will probably sound horrible on music .
  2. It is not 2 bad but it is time consuming also you might want 2 add some internal bracing once it is put together I prefer all thread. I wish I would have took pictures of mine when I was doing it but for my next build I will be doing a build log here it will include 2 dc18s and 4 powerbass xta5000s so if you want to wait I will be started on mine soon and you can just follow me thru mine.
  3. If you want a 10 cube box you will have to build the box in two pieces 1st the baffle and complete 1st half of the box and build a 2nd half with the backside that will slide in to the front half then go in thru the speaker cut outs and screw the 2 halves together and seal them up.
  4. Right where the back seat mounts you have a slope which starts off 5 inches higher than the floor of the trunk and goes back 5 inches I mean subs facing the inside of the car you have to build the box 19and 1/8 high trust me it will squeeze between the rear deck and the bottom of the trunk up to that slope and if the baffle is pushed all the way to the slope just seal it off there pm me if you want and I will shoot you some pics of my current box to show you what I mean about the box mounting but basically it will be firing into the cabin but recessed into the trunk about 5 inches back.
  5. The only pics I have is my single sub setup I still would do subs forward even though you have pop trunk unless you like a lot of trunk flex.
  6. Hey what's up with 2 18s it can be done keep the box about 3 inches behind the trunk rods you kind of have 2 anyways because of the slope right behind the back seats you have just enough height to fit them subs forward you will have 2 use pvc ports though I tried 6 4in ports on my box 2on the left top and bottom 2 in the middle top and bottom and 2 on the right top and bottom firing forward make sure you seal around the front of the baffle so you do not get any cancellation if you try the subs facing any other direction you will have problems I tried subs up and kept breaking the trunk latch and subs back and you will start breaking off the chrome trim on the car and your back skirts will rattle off which sucks while your driving if you need a design just let me know.
  7. Yeah for some odd reason that is what his car likes I wanted to build the box tuned to 40 to 45 hertz but he said no he wanted this box to be a ground pounder he said if we had to we could build another box for burps but that this 1 was going to be his daily box.
  8. That was in the kick meca does not have any shows around here how does meca mic.and also I should add that was with a stock alternator with 1 extra battery in a 7 cube box tuned to 32 hertz .
  9. Condrats to grady he did a 151.2 with 1 level 4xl 18 and a sundown 2000 at 47 hertz and that score will be higher at the next show he will be running a level 5 18 at .35
  10. who me i don't know nothin about nothin.
  11. i would guess the current level 5 motors would be good for the level 6 maybe just a little bit more for hell of it but the main difference would probably be the larger coil and 10 inch spiders and the new basket required for the spiders if it has neos i would still get it.
  12. thanks are you dead set on an aero port if you wanted to try a slot port i could help out with a design just let me know p.s.i know nothing about aeroports but nightshade sounds like he does.
  13. man i would really consider another sub the mx is an awesome sq sub but if you are chasing #s it is the wrong choice my mx 18 sounded great but no matter what box i tried i could not bust a 150 so i tried another sub and jumped from 149 to 152
  14. i use 2 1/2 inch woodscrews for the box and a #12 hex head 3 in1 screw for the sub
  15. subs forward and port forward sealed off from backside of the trunk with about 3 to 4000 watts should do the trick oh with about 3 cubic ft. per sub with about 16 to 20 square inches of port per cubic ft. tuned at about 40 hertz.
  16. yes sir but be ready your cuts might be just a hair off but that is an easy fix if you have a sander but most of the time they do a good job.
  17. hopefully so i mean neos definitely have there advantages.
  18. just depends thorshammer and myself are doing over 150 he has 2 10s and i have 1 18 but we are using some awesome subs though.oh and the both of us are doing subs and port forward sealed off.
  19. for a 2 to 3 hundred pound ferrite it takes a 20 to 30 pound high grade neo magnet to equal it but for some reason every neo mag sub i have used my scores start off great but the more i play the sub the lower my score drops i do not know if it was the neos fault or not but i do know when i switch back to ferrite mags my score stays the same.
  20. yeah you have to prove your worth and compete regularly and win to catch a manufacturers eye at a chance for a sponsorship either a really nice car or a really loud system or both.
  21. I would do 2 level 4xl 15s with a dc 3000 watt amp each sub in about 3.5 to 4 cubic ft.after displacements tuned to 35 hertz subs up and port back.
  22. Oh I believe you I was just copying and pasting that so you could see where my confusion was coming from but yes I am sure if you hook up a 12 volt dc item to a speaker terminal you would get 1 heck of a learning experience.
