oh, yeah, technically it wasn't stock. it is a db electrical 200 amp alt,but was having flickering problems with only the car running, stereo off and massive voltage drop (below 11 volts) at 2000 rpms. worst $200 i ever spent. it is the same exact size as the factory alt though. it could hold it's own with just 1 te1501d at 1 ohm.

at the moment only one battery yellow top optima. need to wait till spring to finish now. 2 mtx te1501d to 4 12" L7's. still have alot more work to go.

Yesterday. hooked it up. Voltage drop at idle full power 11.7 at lowest at the amps and 2000 rpms drops to 1700 rpm full power never dropped below 13.8. alt sits at 14.3 idle. love it. didn't get spec sheet though, i thought it came with 1. i could have been wrong. thanks mechman. http://i954.photobucket.com/albums/ae26/Clinton_Kirker/newalt.jpg

problem has beed solved. i can return it and he will refund me $125 so after i ship it, i will end up with about $100.

I got it like that either UPS dropped it or it was shipped like that. I honestly believe UPS did it. Before anyone asks, i paid for shipping, but, he shipped it so i had no option for insurance. IF i can align it, how would i secure it to the basket? Glue? What kind?

Kinda figured it wasn't repairable. next question is why would i need to take it to a shop to verify it is "non-operational"? I sent him an email with the video. I guess, I get burned on this deal.

I don't know how to post the video directly so i posted it on youtube. Can anyone tell me how to fix this if at all. I contacted the seller, He wants me to go to a licensed audio shop to verify it is not operational and he will need documentation that i did. Is the magnet just glued to the Sub frame? is it fixable? Even if temporary.

i have absolutely no idea how 18's respond never heard them before. do they sound good for any music or rap and such? I sometimes listen to country and eighties rock.

200 amp alt 0/1 awg throughout still need battery for rear. and i already have the amps 2 MTX te1501d 1 ohm stable.birth sheet on 1 says 1779 other 1 says 1670.I'm also think of going to a larger alt if the 200 amp can't keep up.

$1500 for subs. everything else is pretty much ready. except the enclosure.

FYI...It wouldn't be just for spl, i should have mentioned that in the original post. and a daily driver

I am probably going to regret asking this but i need input. my friends all say go MTX or Kicker's. I have $1500 to spare, i already have 2 mtx TE1501d's. Electrical is all ready except a back battery. I have a 2001 pontiac grand prix, back seat already removed Probably doing a wall. What ever i decide to go with, should i do 1 big enclosure single port or a port for each sub.

I went through 3 Stock alts on a 95 cavalier before i learned about the big 3 and optima batteries.

termlab mic at the front passenger side windshield...legal?. these subs say they can handle 2000 watt rms 4000 max. what amp would you recommend? What frequency should i be aiming for? will a larger box help? if i have to I'll give up my entire back seat space, it has already been removed, but didn't really want a wall.
