  1. Long ports are not a problem. Gives me a chalenge to work around. More port means more air that is the plan anyways
  2. I wish I could find more of these but they are the old model ones so finding 4 or even 2 more would be a great score let alone findinng dual 2 ohm ones. I might just look at measuring up for a larger box that will be capable of holding 4 12's or a couple of 18's down the track and just make a new baffle when I can afford the larger woofers. Affording to get more power is the hard part I have about $20 a week that I can save. Could be a long wait. A clam shell would be nice but with only 4 drivers would look out of place I think. The car is barley a meter wide.
  3. Fortunatly for me this car is definatly not a daily anymore. I have a work vehicle and 2 other vehicles I can choose from if this car is not drivable for any reason. The point wenn_du_weinst made is one to help discourage me from wanting a wall behind my head. When this car is driven corners add to the fun factor. Weight is not a drama for the suspension as it is already as solid as a rock front and rear. I can't afford to increase the port size in the current box as it is only at 4.59 cubes after displacements and I have 56 square inches as it is and the port can't be any longer. I mainly want to increase the volume as I am on the small side of things now with about 1.15 cuft per woofer. To go any larger I would need to extend the box through to the rear seat. My eyeball calculator says that I have about 12-14 cuft behind the front seats when at driving position. Would I be better off simply making a larger box for now and persue a greater quantity of woofers to do more at a later date? Or even a T-line for these woofers using the smaller amps? All I want to do is move more air (don't we all) in a cabin this small it is easy enough to get the beginings of some hair movement. I currently have 2 rockford r500.1's powering the 4 of them I have a spare old style rockford T2000.1 available to power the woofers if I so wish. The electrical is currently simply a large factory battery but I run twin 120A alts and 0ga wiring all round under the hood. More batterys will come soon.
  4. As title and description state I am having thoughts about building a wall. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/84100-nissan-pulsar-build-aussie-style/ It would be in the veicle in the above topic. I have a single T2000.1 RF amp for power and the woofers that are currently in the car. Would it be worth my time effort and money to create a wall in place of the rear seats and into the boot area a little? This would be ported with a large ammount of port for the box size at least 20 inches per foot. tuning would be in the area of 29-32hz again as I like the sound so far from the current box. I am open to suggestions for ideas other than a wall but I can't afford more woofers at this time. T-line? Or too much power? Hope to see some opinions soon.
  5. My hatch acts and a nice horn of sorts. I have mine sub up and port up as there was not enough room to fit them all facing back as I normaly would. Definatly works well as last time I had them facin up like this it was rubbish but the box is now much taller and basicly sits level with the base of the window. Only down side is it acts more like a compression horn and get alot and I mean alot of pressure on the window. if you look in my build log the rear hatch of my car is at like a 45deg angle so acts like a 45 would in a port realy.
  6. Black on white. Top choice there Steve. I did just pitch a tent in the trousers. Interested to see what you do for a simple system down the track. Keep up the good work.
  7. Nice a few kms from me up here in launnie. If you want to try for some big SPL numbers I say be different to everyone in Tassie and wall that little machine. With a nice ammount of port area or just a big box with the subs on top facing back slightly and port facing the hatch on a slight upwards angle. ;-) worked for me to get my 148.7 from 2 type S 10's a few years back.
  8. Nice to see a fellow Tasmanian on this fine site. Where are you located in the state. Going by the sizes you have up there I came up with 18.51cuft net. Thats alota box for a getz. What are you wanting to do with the little bus?
