The enclosure looks better than ever. I never cared for the whole Rhino Liner look, so the vinyl is a definite upgrade. I probably wouldn't bother with a new enclosure at all if I were you....unless the SMD subs just don't like this one.

I know, but my friend is noob-ish. It's his vehicle, so I'll install whatever he chooses to buy...

Thanks for speaking up, guys. I usually like to ask around when it comes to air space & tuning frequency, because real world opinions are often different than what's listed on websites. I'm trying to talk my friend into running a 15", but he's leaning heavily towards the 12"...

I'm currently doing a build for a friend of mine who recently purchased a DC 1000.1 and 120.4. He'll be running 2 pairs of RF T152S comps, and I've been talking with Rusty about the DC Level 4 for the trunk. I can handle the install and fabrication, but I need to know 2 things about the sub. How much air space do the 12" and 15" Level 4 models need in order to perform well? What's the best tuning frequency for daily? Thanks for any and all help...

I hear different people quoting different prices for the DD 1508's. It ranges anywhere from $120 to $200, but I think the 4 ohm DVC model is somewhere around $170. What I really want is a Sundown E8, and I nearly got one yesterday, but I was an hour or so too late. I'm looking for a used sub, because I'm throwing a little something together with the equipment I have lying around and don't want to spend too much cash. I have a Clarion flip out, 4x RF T152S, 2x Kenwoof KFC plates, 3 crappy Profile amps and plenty of wiring just collecting dust. So, buying a nice little sub and throwing some of this stuff together for the time being seems like a pretty good idea. I'm going to do a pretty big build in my current vehicle at the beginning of 2010, but I'm tired of the stock sound that's in there right now...

Something along the lines of: Sundown E8 DD 1508 (4 ohm dvc) Any quality 8" that's in the 200 watts rms @ 4 / 400 watts rms @ 2 neighborhood. Must be in nice condition cosmetically and 100% functional. What'cha got?

I've got to chime in here. I've been planning a big build for quite some time now, and I don't want to run with JL Audio or anything else that's super commericial. I was interested in RE, DD and DC above everything else, because noone in my area uses their equipment. I've done a lot of research, and wanted to talk to someone who represents the companies I'm interested in, and Rusty went out of his way to respond to my emails. I don't know nearly as much as some (or maybe even most) of you guys, but I just talked with Rusty for the first time 2 days ago. He was extremely approachable and friendly, even though I openly admitted that I won't be buying anything for AT LEAST several months. I'm looking to install 4 15"s, and maybe even 4 18"s in my build, and I've never commited to anything like this before in my life. Naturally, I want to know what I'm getting myself into, and Rusty is THE ONLY PERSON who bothered responding to my questions. For that reason alone I'll be using DC equipment when I do my build. From what I can tell, the DC product is built like a tank, it looks great and performs even better than it looks. On top of that, the prices are more than fair. Rusty = win. He'll be getting quite a bit of business from me in the future...

My name is Daniel, and I'm from West Virginia. I heard about Steve's work from the dealer who introduced me to RE and FI Audio. I checked out some of Meade's youtube vids, and I've been trolling these boards ever since. I'm sitting at home on a rainy saturday night at the moment with nothing to do, so I figured there's no better time than now to introduce myself. I'd also like to say that I've never seen a more talented group of wood and fiberglass workers in my life. Steve's builds are insane, and there are members on this forum who are world class builders/installers too. I honestly hope to learn a lot from you guys, and hopefully I'll be able to show off some of my skills in a few months. I can't compete with a lot of you guys, but I'm no slouch...
