  1. Turn your bass boost off on your amp and put your gain up, Your gain is probably set waaay too low thats why it sounds like nothing is coming out of your subs.
  2. not to thread jack but I thought sub levels were supposed to say on 0? I have a pioneer hu and i leave mine on 0, going up gets louder but it distorts should I retune my gane with ym sub level on +6?
  3. Test each sub, plug one sub in at a time to the amp. Does the amp go into protect or anything? Something doesnt sound right...
  4. Yeah thats what I was making sure, Theres no way to drop it to 1ohm anyway. Thanks again everyone.
  5. So even though I have my subs running at 2ohms, even just hooking the subs up to 2 of the 4 pos/neg its still dropping it to 1ohm or is it keeping it at 2ohms? Sorry if I am asking too many questions.
  6. Yeah I have it set to off right now, I wasnt sure if I should have it somewhere or not and would that be considered bridging even though its a mono amp? Thanks again to everyone for the quick help.
  7. How do I figure out the tuning for a sealed box? I didnt build this one is was giving to me by brother a while back whos friend built it for him. Edit: wait, you cant tune a sealed box? Unless Im confused
  8. What should I set it at? This is the first amp I've had with an adjustable one so Im not even sure what to do with it. (ap15001d) I have it at off right now. Also the amp has 4 speaker connections but its a mono amp, I have two 4 ohm svc subs at 2ohms, Is it possible to bridge it to one channel on this amp for a final load of 1ohm or am I missing something here...
  9. I dont even know how I came accross this but I thought it was funny. ...is it just me or could you actually see the woofer doing that? hahah
  10. Id say the buyer is getting raped although You will probably be louder with those 4 than the one 18
  11. I have mine set around 100hz and I never have a problem with highs hitting in the subs or maybe Im not understanding what your saying, I know most people set it around 75-8O, try that and see how you like it. Oh, I forgot I have a LPF on my headunit set to 80hz so It doesnt matter what my amp is set at so maybe thats why.
  12. What subs are you talking about again? The kickers or sundowns? The sundowns are underated but you can blow a 10000watt sub on a small amp if you dont know what your doing, which, not trying to be a dick, seems like you dont. haha, we have all been there though believe me, trial an error will be your best friend. yes, You're electrical is your battery/alt.
  13. The ap1500d is rated at 1500rms at 1 ohm but depending on your electrical you wont see 1500. Set your gains correctly and you wont have to worry about blowing them.
  14. This is right from DDMtunings website. "If both sides are flickering it can be caused by a few things. More than likely because the car can’t supply enough power to the ballasts on startup. You can check this by connecting the adapter cables on the bulbs to the battery with the bulb and ballast connected. If the kit fires up without any problems you will probably need a wiring harness. If your car has Daytime Running Lights (DRL) if could be caused by the car quickly turning the lights on and off to give the effect that the halogen bulbs are running at half power. If the flickering is caused by the DRL you can try a wiring harness or have the DRL disabled (NOTE: disabling the DRL may not be legal in all areas, check with local laws before doing so). The flickering can also be caused by the car’s self-check system to see if there is a working halogen bulb connected. This can typically be corrected with the BOW3."
  15. No problem, welcome to the forum btw.
  16. That amp pushes 500wrms at 2ohms so run your subs at that and each one will see 250rms, Yes, that is the maximum amount of rms you will be safe with. Dont ever go by peak, it means nothing.
  17. alpine mrp500, does 500wrms at 2ohms. 110 shipped.
  18. Thats a joke right? Thats the main reason people blow their subs.
  19. I use the alpine amp, pushes everything Ive thrown at it very nicely.
  20. I dont see why your being so stubborn. Just try the battery you have sitting in you're garage, if it doesnt work then every single person in this thread is wrong. Atleast you can rule that out.
