the current box was built inside the trunk and the new plan was going to be. I do t have the $ for new subs. So if I get rid of my SoLo x then I only have the money I get from it.

PLan cancelled. the original idea would have had a box of 5 cubes, so i made it bigger. But did not take into account making it longer would hit the finder wells and would not fit. Stuck with first box. Cleaned up the wiring. and changed the tune of my box to 33 hertz. Hits a lil lower.

accordin to 12volt.com a box 6.2 cubes with a port 4" by 10" and 8.9" deep would be tuned to 35 hertz

port will be 4" x 10" and 8.7" long. I attempted to look into bandpass enclosures. For this sub or others. I put post on multiple sites and the all just told "you don't have enough space". No matter what I said/asked they would not answer my questions. But I know I do not have the space for a bandpass with this sub

PLAN CANCELED. NOT ENOUGH SPACE. ORIGINAL DESIGN WOULD HAVE FIT, BUT BEEN TOO SMALL. THE NEW DESIGN WOULD NOT FIT AT ALL. So i have a 18" Solo X. I know the box is small, i dont have much space. Currently my Sub is in 5.8 cubes @36 hertz, sub up into trunk lid and port forward. So i was thinking of trying to get the sub forward or partially forward. This is what i am thinking. DO you think this will be better/louder then sub up? I know, i suck at the sketching. but you get the idea.

So does anyone here know how to know what size to use for each area of the box? I understand the design, just dont know how to know how much space for each section.

Ignoring 99% of OPs comments. I had one of those MA Audio HK 15"s, claims 5000wrms 10,000max. It hit hard for what i paid for it. I paid $70 for it, it was in a sealed box on less then 2000wrms. If your strapped for $$ it could always be worse. Do your homework, you got a long way to go. Might scale your project down from 20,000 to about 2000 watts.

So many people have told me that a 4th order is the way to go. Never had one. So when attempting to design a 4th order how do you know the sizes to make the enclosure? How many cubes for the sealed section? how to design the port? Here is some of my info Kicker Solo X 18" AQ2200 02 Monte Carlo with about 7 cubes to work with. I dont care if it can or cant be done... asking how do you design?? Might have to design the box to dip into the spare tire area, for a extra few inches of space.

I have a 2002 Monte Carlo SS I made a box to fit in there that was 6.8 cubes in the trunk(put together inside the trunk). But that was only for one 18" To tune it properly i cut it down to 5.5 cubes ported tuned to 35 hertz. Cant wait for pics and vids of this. Keep us updated.

The single port would probly make it louder. Due to the size of the box i dont think facing the ports back would improve anything. There is almost no room around the box into the cab. It is noticeably louder with trunk open.

I am more worried about the kinetic wiring. The big 3 was easy. I just dont want to fry either battery Sounds good, but i probly need another amp or just a bigger one. I know it would sound better with a bigger box and bigger amp.

Ok, well just did the Big 3 . 1/0 pos from amp to Kinetik and both ground with 1/0 to chasis. 1/0 from the Kinetik to ground, but i still only have the two strands of 4 gauge from front to Kinetik. So now when pounding pretty good it drops from 14v to 12v at the amp. I have heard people say the Kinetik should be connected pos to pos and neg to neg with the front battery.. I have also head to wire it the way i have it. pos front to rear and neg from Kinetik to chasis, then amp to chasis. Which is right? and please explain. How i have it How i have seen recommended

yea, i got that Kinetik hooked up. Makes a bit of a difference already, should be good to go once i get the wires upgraded. Yea when the bass hits low it shakes everything pretty good. I know everyone says its all about cone area... wel this thing hits louder and deeper then my 15" L7s did. but i am considering switching to 4 12"s....but i dont know.

Airassisted.com looks like a good site with a huge selection. I have tried to get on Layitlow. I never recieved a validation email, but when i try to log in it says they cant find that user name, but when i try to register it says the user name is taken.
