  1. i have had a couple ssd's.

if you are going to upgrade your amp then i would say go for it other then the fact that i only suggest using different amps for different coils if you use one amp for the master and the other for the slave. don't try and set them up seperately unless you know what your doing

if you are pushing 500 to each coil then step up to the flatwind coil and bp power option. or just get a dc level 4.

if you don't upgrade your amp then go with a DC sound lab level 3 Dual 4 ohm. you'll be happier with that because you will be able to give it enough power if you wire it to 2 ohms.

cool thanks for the input for real. as far as the amp thing now are ya talkin settin the amps up using a multimeter and that, cuz i read about that before and thinkin i could handle it, or maybe ya can inform me on the "one amp for the master and the oother for the slave" thing. im a lil new as far as strapping amps and all that cuz im tryin to break outt of the entry level if i can lol.the amp i have now is only a month or so old and bein a father of 6 funds get tight at times lol so thats why id perfer stickin with the kenwood amp. but DC could be an option its just i havent read much about em except the good people have said about them. do ya have a good link to check prices and specs. i really appreciate the input from ya guys and feel free to lightly rip on me if i have a stupid moment and seem like a tard lol. i dont mind a lil constructive critisizim lol

  2. Isobaric is great for small box applications, but you can run only roughly half the power to the speakers. I don't know if some of you older guys remember the Advent Temple of Boom. It was 2 10 inch woofers in an isobaric pyramid enclosure.

...older guys?! lol 30 is the new 20 they say :D:D:D j/p i remember the temple of boom some what... i think in one of my dads old crutchfield back in the day lol or someplace like that haha

  3. lol dont you love working on the lot... I DO.. its nice to see the cars come and go and get your hands on em and see a family happy with their car and lifestyle :) crazyiest car i ever sold was a model t rat rod for 9 grand had fake rust paint and a 351w it purred like a lion lol

and for cheap cheap nos parts go to http://www.foxmustangrestoration.com/ a sponsor of my old car" :bsflag:

ya say. not bad for a 17 year old... if only there was truth to it

  4. hey ya'll i have just been tossin around a idea about steppin up a lil from a single 12" MTX7500 and one that keeps me thinkin is the FI ssd 12. right now i have the mtx in a 2 cube ported box tuned around 40-45. the thing im lookin for is a single 12(due to space limits. need a trunk to use still) in a ported box but would build that later. i have a kenwood KAC-8104D amp right now and it pushes 500 rms @2 ohms. i would like to get the d2vc and would pick up second kenwood amp and run one per coil. the amps are in my price range as is the ssd. im just wondering what anybodys thoughts are with this sub and any other info would be great too. im also not sure about the options with that sub, what would be ideal for what im lookin for. i play all rap/hip hop and play hard and basically lookin for a more bang in the same space and on a limited price range and the ssd run about 174 range(before shipping and options) thanks for taking your time for this

  5. man id say that sounds like a project there. i know on some gm cars they made the leafs outta fiberglass or close to it and have seen them broke many times so not sure if removing a single leaf would be a safe option. a vette one im not too sure would be too safe either bein a vette is alot lighter in the rear than your gp, but maybe a lil research online would help... i know of a spring place around this way(northern MN) that does all kinds of springs and they might be able to help or point ya in the right direction... heres the number- 1-800-826-3318 or www.huskyspring.com. the owner used to own a auto shop i worked in until he sold it but they do alot of dif thiungs and if it can be done they would more than likely know something. hope ya find out something and if needed feel free to PM me

...ask for Lee, John or mike if ya call. im not sure of any new people workin there these days.

  6. yeah, Grand Prix...

...those kids are for solid axles...mine is a multi-link with a transverse leaf spring...

completely random, but anyone know if I could make an aftermarket Corvette leaf work?

  7. I think they'd look good. If it was me though I'd get them in 20's. I also hear of a lot of steering/braking problems with 22's and up on Blazers.

ah but only for a few months a year? 20s most likly will leave a big gap in the wheel well and bein its a winter driver too ya know them wheel well are gonna have that dirty color dark brown color showin. but i suppose it can get right by using a lil bigger diameter tire. but 22s is whats wanted so id suggest talkin to a couple wheel shops about sizes cuz tirefactory.com says 22 as biggest that will fit. the wheel shop guys would be able to get the numbers out so yya can figure out what would be best when all is done. not sure how rich ya are but wheels to me are pretty spendy so ya know you want it to be a good purchase and not just a cool lookin one nah meen lol.

  8. yeah but its prob just cuz sometimes people ask a ? and get the wrong info and not realizing...but on here you can expect to end up with the real facts, so its still all good i think. cool to set people up with good info instead of whatever lol. all part of learnin, but to keep the piece i speak for myself :D

edit-i was sayin people get the wrong info elswhere and get corrected here lol. read that and i felt like i sounded as if i downed this forum but not my intensions at all. had to fix my words a bit lol. sorry

  9. It is not a bad forum, but at the same time it does have a lot of false info when people are giving advise. Overall I would give it a B+.

  10. save up repair cash....

my one friend got 22's on his (98 2-door)blazer, over the summer went through 4 rotors, 6 sets of pads, and basically a whole new front end, those little trucks dont like the big shoes apparantly

he was dumb enough to take it on the beach, it was basically totaled after that and he got a maxima. But be mad careful, its a lot of strain on those little bits and pieces, especially in the front end.

i agrea with that in a way too. i know GM trucks are known for there front end parts loosing up(balljoints, tierods, etc) maybe talk with the company and a few wheel shops to find out the info about the offset of the wheels and what would work best on your truck. a bad offset wheel will for sure give you premature brake wear and other front end parts bein the wheel might stick out farther than the stock wheels. but all in all i still like the wheels for sure lol. good call though ray for bringin that up, i should of though about that one bein a auto tech myself ha. but been layed off for the past year now so easy slip of the mind i guees lol

  11. ha well im a huge fan of the black on black so il give em a big thumbs up. just IMO the black wheels give it more of a clean clean look with black paint, over all chrome. more mature look. not hatin the all chrome wheels though, its just my opinion about the color paint the car/truck is. that would look very nice though bro. good luck on your search or purchase

  12. they got stuck because they were backing it out with the air completely out.....had i not JUST got a bran-new bottle of nitrogen that weekend, they wouldnt have gotten very far. It woulda took 20 min to fill that tank up with the shit-compressor i was running at the time - anyway, no they havent been caught. Never will either im sure but dirtbags like that will get theirs one way or another someday.

what goes around comes around, they will get whats coming to em...just like steve. he lost his car in that shit, all bummed im sure, but good came back on his side and look at it now. that lil civic is sick as hell again but seems to bang a lil more :yahoo: .keep up that good work man and i still think its the shit ya built it up again. its kinda like a slap in the face to them punks that never came in person and gives people like me the drive to not let haters hold em back. holla holla

  13. Hell ya, it has gotten me back into car audio. Was in a 5-7 year slump there, wife, kids, job and the everyday bull shit. Glad to be back and thanks to all the people here.... :drinks: :drinks: :drinks: :drinks: :drinks:

i double that lol. i went almost 10 years without much car audio fun and lost track of all the new and older company names that i was used to seein. but steves vids on youtube led me here and i been hooked since, even though it gets hard to follow all the good threads especially havin so many kids haha. hell maybe one day my kids will be on here....nah im not THAT old yet lol :01nocomment8so: anyways this forum is thee best, enough said(IMO)
