  1. I dont think ive posted this on here but i dont see a whole lot of talk about seleniums and eminence on here i know SQ they arent great but if ur not looking for the best sound, but want loud i would deff. turn to them, this was when i was running 2 6.5 eminence in the front and 2 6.5 seleniums in the back doors with 2 selenium D200 horns. they were bridged on a cheap ass dual 580 watt 2 channel, and they didnt sound terrible, if i would have had a better amp they prolly would have sounded better. But the horns are just so crisp and bright they make up for the lack in highs alot.

for some reason it wouldnt let me embed it :(

  2. Sorry Guys..work is so busy and strong that I barely have to sleep any more.

That's all good and all that the truck can run 12's...but you need to ask yourself a couple of questions:

    1) are you into aftermarket upgrades?

    2) are you wanting to Tow with it or race it?

Doing upgrades to the motor is fine and dandy, but wanting to go fast, does not help with towing. Typically when doing speed upgrades, the EGT's tend to get HOT and FAST. For towing, you don't want the high EGT's. High EGT's for a 1/4 mile at a time are one thing, but it's a complete different world when you need your truck for towing and your EGT's are high for hours at a time.

Personally, I really like the 6.7 and if/when I get another truck, it will be the motor in my rig. I've been driving the 5.9 for many many years and it too is a fantastic motor. The issue with the 5.9 is that it has been through soo many revisions, that it's kind of towards the end of its lifespan. The 6.7 really was released as a replacement for the 5.9 and my guess is that you will start seeing the 5.9 production slowing down in the next 2-5 years.

    kev

it will deff be a tow truck, and i know exactly what u mean with the higher EGT's, i was very rough on my 5.9, we were pushing upwards of 600hp out of a stock block and it took it like a champ. that truck still towed fine though. My only concern with the new 6.7's is the emission restrictions, i know i can do the DPF delete but if i have a new truck i still would like to work around the warranty with what i do and dont do to the truck. basically what im wanting to do is buy and build a capable trailer truck that can be used also for some sled pulls and beatin on it at the truck while being respectable.

to the op, you said you were possibly looking at used ones...is the only reason ur not wanting new is because of the "lack of" aftermarket products?

No i know that i can find or fabricate w.e. im looking to do, but if i buy a new truck how bad are my hand tied with the warranties also, no reason to buy a new truck to void the warranty right away ya know. but i also have heard to many good stories of towing MPG's with the 6.7's and aftermarket is the only way to fix that, but if the warranty binds me to not do anything.

  3. damn just reading these make me tear up a little, Im lucky enough to have my parents still and am very close with both of them, But my father has gained alot of weight recently and it is hurting him bad and i can see that and i feel terrible, i try to motivate him to get up and moving to try and lose the weight because i am terrified to lose him, he has always been my best friend/Mentor and i honestly do not know what i would do without him.

Im very sorry for your loss but im glad to see you taking it as well as u are, as one other posted just dont bottle up your emotions its only going to make it harder, show them, share them and cope with them. Things will always get better.

  4. Went and test drove yesterday took it out to dinner, and idk, im really thinking ill prolly buy another 5.9 common rail and build from that, the 6.7 had some balls but with the limitations on aftermarket and what not i wasnt really impressed. Prolly get and 05 or 06 and use that for the base platform lol i need something thats gonna move haha cuz all the cummins guys around me are running well under 14's at the drag strip and i damn sure cant be the slow guy in the group. lol

  5. Well as of now I have like zero flex.I really want to get the ap3000d and probably another dc. I just like how flex looks on vids but if it makes it sound worse then I would rather not.

so from ur sig it says you have 1 lvl4 w/lvl5 coils 18 in 4 cubes, on 1200 or so watts? idk if its me but im hoping in a box that small u plan on putting upwards of 2500 or so watts to even attempt at getting the full potential out of that sub. i say for more output and "flex" up that box to about 6 cubes, andi f u dont have the space for it, sell it and get two lvl 3 or lvl4 12's and ull prolly be much happier in about 4.5-5 cubes for both, tuned around 30-33hz, just my opinion though.

  6. anyone have any experience with these looking at new trucks to tow my car hauler and race car, and possibly the durango and im just wondering, how is the power and Fuel mileage on these in tow, cuz if its not great, i can always get on older 24v or 12v, or even the newer common rails and modify to my likings, but i like the idea of a warranty but dislike the idea of a generally stock truck.

So feed me ur opinions, o and please no cummins bashing.

o and another thing how about the new trannys are they still some what shitty?

  7. looks like a good wrap and I got a dicks like 5 min away =D Yeah my cardio is horrible now... I used to run track and did the 100m in 11.0 and the two mile(through the woods, creeks, etc.) in 11:18

haha u think ur cardios bad lol, i can run a mile in like 9 minutes flat, and thats struggling lol, Bad back FTL lol, and yea they really are pretty solid wraps, But i wont lie ull still deff. feel ur wrist haha
