  1. Yeah, I looked at those Head Units, but I'm going to take some time this weekend and probably review my front speakers to see if that helps any. I find it a little weird that it could just go out after just a little over a year of use. 2 other people I go to school with bought this exact same unit the same time I bought mine and havent had any problems out of theirs, so I'm just gonna troubleshoot and take it from there. As for the links to the radios, highly impressed with the units that you provided me links to, thanks for taking the time to refer me to them.
  2. Sonicelectroinx oddly enough is where I order all of my stuff from. I've yet to see anyone beat their prices, if you can suggest some models off of their website I would appreciate it, thanks for taking the time to read about the issues im experiencing.
  3. Well needless to say, a nice touchscreen nav unit would be nice but I don't have that kind of money laying around. I'd say no more than $300 if you can suggest anything.
  4. Thats what I was figuring, I had an old school rockford fosgate 551s amp before I went with my hifonics and it was amazing. Any suggestions on a new HU? I originally had a sony but swapped over to pioneer this time last year.
  5. First off, I want to apologize to all of those who are experienced in car audio if this is a ignorant/stupid question to you. About 6 months ago I noticed my Kicker 4x6 speakers were starting to sound distorted, decided to buy some new RF speakers for my front plates in my 92 silverado. Just finished wiring them up and it still sounds awful. When I go to balance directly to my front speakers, sound is shitty and severely distorted. However, when the balance is moved the rear speakers, its flawless. Any thoughts to what might be wrong? I'm figuring either (1.) I need to rewire the speaker going from my headunit to the speakers or (2.) the amp in my HU may be going bad.
  6. Oh, my bad. How do you like your Memphis subs? Guy at school has two Mojo's on a Memphis Competition amp and it's ungodly how hard they hit.
  7. Well I wouldn't consider myself an audio guru by any means. I figured parallel would be the best approach to take, just wanted some reassurance and figured this is the place I could come to for that.
  8. Hey everyone, I bought a Hifonics 1610D for my subs after my RF551s fried. I'm curious as to how to run two 12" Single Voice Coil 4ohm subwoofers into a 2ohm load properly given that it's possible. The amp came with wiring diagrams however only for dual voice coil subs. Any suggestions or diagrams that you may have I would greatly appreciate. Thanks.
