  1. I have a mk3 jetta that had pretty bad electrical problems after my oversized battery hit the hood.

Eventually i had to straight wire the starter to a 30 amp switch and bypassed the starter switch in the column. You may need to do the same. Bottom line is that the alarm is finicky.

I'm no mechanic so this is just what the guy told me to do. Other than getting a new alarm and such.

    WHat he said.

Older VW's wiring problems were HUGE!

  2. oil galleries are part of the engine... i know what im talking about. motors NA from factory remain naturally aspirated, the oil pump is before the oil filter plate, therefore the engine oil pump feeds the turbo just like i had said... i dont eeven know what youre talking about. you must be drunker than me

    You make absolutely no sense.

Yes, the oil pump is before the filter...Making a sandwich plate between the filter and block work perfectly for feeding a turbo on a motor with a turbo added on.

  3. youre going to need an electric oil pump... not sure if anybody makes those, much easier to run together, notice all the pros run oil to turbo from the engine, because it works, you shouldnt go into a project with the assumption in your mind that its going to fail, thats a bad way to start a build. anyways turbo seals can be replaced just like any engine gasket .

    umm///what?

Most motors turbo oil feed line comes off the block from a pressurized oil gallery.

Motors NA from the factory usually use a oil filter sandwich plate to feed the turbo...

Unless you're talking about a dry sump setup...Which is very spendy...

  4. wondering..... i see people have run scavenging pumps on theyre turbo's to avoid oil pressure biuld up and blowing out the oil seals..... my question is this:

can i make an independent oil system for my turbo? like id have a reservoir, pump, oil cooler, maybe a check valve on the input side of oil to avoid over pressurizing, and would i need a scavenging pump on the other (output) side to pull the oil through? i dont want to tap into my heads or oil pan to get oil.... and if i get an oil leak from the turbo id rather it not take away from my engine.....

any thoughts or has anyone done this?

    thanks guys

just noticed we can attach files now to posts..... SWEET

You can get an oil feed restrictor.

  5. A couple questions here guys:

I'm looking to install HID headlights on my Toyota Tacoma but have a few questions first, answers to any or all of them would be greatly appreciated.

How hard are they to install? If i put in my entire car audio system do you believe i have the ability to install them myself or do i spring for a little more and have a pro do it? I want to do it myself just would love some tips on how to do so?

Will HID's melt a stock headlight housing? Will i have to worry about heat issues?

Where to buy? Best prices for the highest quality headlight?

Benefits of having HIDs over halogens? My stock lights are dim and i need a replacement!

    Thanks for your help guys!!

Replace your current halogen's with a brighter one and re-aim..

HID's in non-projector housings fucking suck, blinds the shit out of everyone.,

  6. I would definatley look over the ground connections and power connections again, as kino stated earlier this sounds like a battery related issue. I was thinking it may be a fuse issue, but I dont think there is a master fuse for a car, so its got to be battery connection related.

    This^^

There's GOTTA be a main fuse...Which is most likely blown. It'll be at least 70amps...

Blew mine on accident, NOTHING worked in the car.

How are you checking the fuses? Just looking at em? Check them for continuity. Or use a test light on the fuse, if one side lights up and the other doesn't, you got a blown fuse.

  7. Ya its not going to be a converter, they rarely go bad .But it sounds like the 02 sensor went bad. A slow response does not mean you are running rich. Seriously you guys are picking things out of your asses, if you dont know or even have a clue ,you should probably not say anything . Best thing to do is clear the code, and see if it comes back on .If it does, then it needs to be hooked to a scanner to see the actual 02 readings . Or you could take the chance and replace the sensor . Your call.

Lmao...Tell me why the cats went out at around 160k on my truck?

No, it wasn't running shitty prior to that, its always been taken care of.

  8. Sounds like fuel pump pressure to me.

    This^

Sounds very familiar. Hard to replace the fuel pump twice on my astro. Have someone turn over the ignition and lay next to the bottom of the car to listen to the fuel pump, and try wacking the tank with a hammer or rubber mallet (carefully)

Or hookup a fuel pressure gauge inline with the fuel rail. Some rail's will have a shrader valve of some sort on it, some don't.

  9. I don't know if a WALL is a good idea for a first system. Maybe you should start with an under window line design first and see what all that entails. Also, is your truck capable of being set up for twin alternators? If not, you're very limited on the type of system you can get in there. Takes a lot of power to do what you're wanting.

Shit, with a welder you can do as many alt's as your want. Only problem is space and power of the motor ;)
