  1. well if rusty says 5-6 cubes i say use 5-6 cubes he knows best. they are his woofers. but yea 4.5 is to small can you go any bigger?
  2. ooo i fail. i didnt see that. yea you can run it at 2 ohms and everything will be happy. problem solved
  3. no, dont run 2 ohm stable amp at 1 ohm. it will not be happy... and niether will you
  4. sorry your friend is wrong. its a subwoofer set it to low pass filter that will only allow bass frequencies play and thats what that speeaker is designed for. highs coming through will sound like garbage. set the crossover somewhere around 80hz or just play around with it until you like the way the bass sounds
  5. huh!?!? no the free ends go to your amp. other wise your gunna have a sub and a box with some random wires in your hand scrathin your ass goin.. wheres the sound!? ok lets start tfrom the begining. take 1 piece of wire. hook it into the positive terminal on one coil and attach the other end to the negitive terminal on the other coil. then run wire from the open positive terminal to the positive on the amp then run negitve from open neg. on coil to neg. on amp and viola sound.. assuming the amp is hooked up correctly
  6. exactly like the picture says, just follow the diagram and you'll be good. run a wire from the negative on one coil to the positive on the other coil. then you can wire the "free" terminals to the amp, if that makes sense
  7. i havent, thats a good idea though ill see if i can do that. i was doing some research and someone mentioned the cat converter begin a prpblem from the car running rich which i forgot to mention. it also came up running rich
  8. i drive an '01 chevey balzer 4.3l 6 cyl. ok so i was driving to work the other day and my check engine light came on so i broke out the trusty snapon code reader and it said i had a random multiple misfire... ok so i changed the spark plugs, still did it, got new wires, didnt help and finally did the cap and still nada. im stumped i cant figure out why it still has a misfire. i cleared all the codes drove around for a little bit and it came back. so i read it again and it still came up with the same problem. any ideas?
  9. use exposports calculater, free and it accounts for sub displacement, unlike RE... o yea and i want vidddsss! lol
  10. magical smoke = dead amp. sorry that amps only 1 ohm stable, cant run at .5
  11. you shouldnt have to take the system out but you probably should do some electrical upgrades next.. big 3's pretty cheap to do yourself. not that hard either and it will help
  12. any electrical upgrades? if your running a t2000 i would definitely do at least the big 3 a new battery up front. maybe one in the back too. thats alot of power for stock electrical to handle regardless of weather or not its causing your check engine lights or airbag light. but im thinkg check engine could be something electrical..
  13. well you definitely want to try not havng cracks like that.. silicone will only do so much, i would only use it to seal the seems up, not to fill in crack, thats gunna cause some air leaks and air leaks sond like shit! lol. yea if your gunna rebuild try getting the cuts as straight as possible. your friends stffs gotta be better than lowes.
  14. lmfao!!!! i want one!! pepper sprays fun too.. only try it on your friends though. not yourself... it sucks...bad lol
  15. no problem thats what this place is for. yea check your crossovers and play around with them, they could be why its getting low but playing highs. definitely better than building a new box just to find out it was your filters and xovers te whole time
  16. also, what are your amp and HU filters set to? could have a big effect, do you use bass boost at all?
  17. dont give up, if at first you dont succeed rebuild! my first ported box was a mess.. at least it was for my buddys car lol. now im pretty good at this shit lol. try using exposports tuning calculater, it'll give you everything, even accounts for displacements usualy the bass passing throuhg the rear seats or deck isnt a huge problem although it would be louder to port it through. just make sure there is space around the box to get to the inside of the car. also, what did you use to fgure out the tuning of the one you have now? program could be a little off.. or may have build slightly different than specs you punched into the program. either way i wouldnt build sealed, just trial and error, everyone does it. best way to learn imo
  18. not really, gotta know hight depth width.. you know the size of the space your putting in in, stop being lazy and get your ass in the trunk with a tape measurer. because if someone desines you a box thats 17" tall and your space is only 15" tall, i hate to break it to you but it wont fit!
