  1. ok ill give it a shot with all my eq settings where i want them
  2. lol no i wish i was, just a huge huge fan but what i am doing, is it correct? how come im getting clipping after?, just curious as i just threw my new subs in, played a bunch of songs, not even getting the subs warm at all.
  3. so your suppose to run all your settings at flat all the time??? what i do is set everything to flat. then set amp then put settings back, IE: LPF, HPF, and my EQ for my highs.

    Clipping

So i used my scope to set my amp, set everything to flat, had it all set up, no clipping, but when i put all my settings back on my H/U, and play some songs, it clips. I did it the way meade showed in his videos.
  5. ahaha damn, what vechile? i would love to tune that low, but my ports would need to be way to long
  6. ok, well ill do what i have to do, but in the end, i need my 6" from the start of the flare to bottom of box correct? if so, thanks guys!
  7. yea 2 6" ports, well going off of what i used before and what the SA line can do, i had 2 SA-8's in the recommended box, and had a single 4" aero, and i played with different tunning, and they got loudest and slammed the lows at 38hz, way better then tuned anything under. This may not be the case with the 12's, so i wanted to be able to tune as low as i could get, and tune to 38 to try it out. I will not be gluing the ports, only taping, and wanted to try keep them as long as possible, but if i absolutely need 6" then i will have to do so then.
  8. here is my box plan just in case anyone wanted to know 3 sa 12's ports in box height - 24 width - 45 depth - 13 port 2 x 6", 17" long 5.49 ft3 34.57hz 56.52 in2 port or 12.5"port for 37.93hz, 5.66cubes
  9. I want the ports to be flush, so just adding .75 isnt easy. The tuning will give me 34.5hz
  10. that i didnt want to do. I also didnt want to make the box any bigger either. I just wasent sure if it was going to cause a problem or not :S
  11. So right now im designing my new box, want to build new box. My dilemma is, im using 2 6" aero ports. My box is 24" tall, my port length is 17", but with both flares attached the total length of it is 18". That only leaves 5.25" from the wall to the start of the flare. is this ok? I know your suppose to leave 6" from the wall using a 6" port. But the port doesn't tech. start until inside the flare a bit, if that makes sense. how i got that is. 24" tall, minus .75" for the bottom of box, then 18" port.
  12. FINALLY, someone that knows how to build subwoofers..... jeez. haha jk jacob!!
  13. thats what i was going to do, but where do i get flares from, other then PSP or Parts express?
  14. looking to get 2-3 6" aero ports. trying to find some good used ones for cheaper then online stores. Let me know, thanks
  15. they are duals. and i ran mine with an external 4" aero port, would great
  16. i had mine on 500 a piece and they were good, i couldn't think of putting more to them then that for daily. but if he wants to do it, i want to see it
  17. does that even mater though? or is it the fact that there is so many ports in 1 box? the box is only 5.5 cubes after all dis. im going with 2 6" anyways, but have been very curious anyways
  18. i wasent asking about port area. i was asking about port noise.
  19. what about the flared ends? but i am also curious if there would be port noise if i used to many 4" aeros, i think it would look a little funny though also
  20. just trying to figure out my new build, was wanting to go with 2 6" aero ports, but having a hard time finding some used. I do have about 6 4" aero ports though, and was thinking if i used like 4 or 5 4" would i get port noise? or im better off just hunting down 2 6"?
  21. so im thinking either 2 sa 12's at .5 ohm, or 1 ohm, or... i also found wiring in Series / Parallel, with 5 dual 2 ohm subs i can get a final load of .8. or if i under power the 8's but 67 watts each, i can run 6 of them, and wire Series / Parallel to a final load of .7ohms
