Sell all your subs, amps, and boxes on craigslist, buy two of THESE vv and build a custom box, i will even give you a free design if you want.
-
LOLwhat.
Btw, nice build man, wish i had the kind of bank to for a build like that.
-
yeah he got em for $60 each in the black fiday sale and is trying to sell em for $125 each, shits kinda funny IMHO.

if you want carbon, the best thing to do, is use fiberglass, and put a 3M carbon fiber sticker over it lol.
man if its box strength you need, you cant go wrong with good ole fiberglass and threaded rod. thread rod dosent take up too much space and ive seen boxes strong enough to be thrown at the ground and not take internal damage, or even move, thanks to threaded rod and fiberglass, plus, with fiberglass, all you need is some paint brushes and some time, threaded rod, nuts, washers, and a hack saw, carbon fiber on the other hand, a $50,000 vacuum heating rig, plus sheets of bare woven carbon fiber, not to mention the special clear coat to put on it.

what software are you using?
i use a couple different ones but most of the time my ass is posted up on Bassbox Pro 6.

Just a quick question. Where did you get those thingymabobbers that hold the 90 degree angle on the corners for you? And what are they called?
90' corner clamps, at harbor freight they're like $7 each, now that i own them, i wish i had gotten more exspensive ones somewhere else. they're good for small speaker eclosures, but when working with big enclosures and MDF, they dont really hold as good as i wish they did, plus once they are tight you destroy your fingers loosening them.
OMG these would be godly.
and for my box, why do you think its big? because it isnt a generic size like other people use, dont go by the tech specs from the manufacturers, always run the t/s specs through design software and see what it all comes out to.
-
Why run the speakers off the h/u? They wont get a lot of power that way. Use another amp.

each one of these can do a stable 300 watts of current, and for the price, buying 4-10 of them isnt that bad.
or this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817709019
can do 250 watts stable, for $5 less. $0.10 per watt isnt bad at all.
and lastly
LOL, BRO! i copied what you did and made it look more understandable LMFAO.

likin the roof flex.
thanks! all this with entry level subs, just wait till i can afford something serious >
camera sucks tho, was easily 50% more flex.

-
Whatcha think? -
post lagged, posted way too late.
cant wait to see the rims steve.
-
i say buy some power supplys, some of those $25 400 watt ones, and buy as many as you need to get the wattage you want. nothing line a bank of power supplies : D my uncle has 4 500w custom power suppies on an audioque 1200, powering his 4 sony home theatre subs, and shit gets LOUD.
-
if u run inverted you can show off ur shiny magnets :3
generally i dont do it because i think it looks dumb, but its whatever you wanna do bro.
-
mite i ask y u have 2 fi x 12s in 6 cubes? cuz i have my 15 x in 2.6 cubes because of over powering and if your usings that 1500 i know your over powering
overpowering is all in the gains bro.... and thats the specs needed to get it to play some half decent lows. a 4 cuft box tuned to 25 hz may have a f3 of 32 hz, wheres a 6 cuft box tuend to 25 may have a f3 of 27 hz, its all about the displacement man.
and what makes you think im overpowering them? i could go to 7cuft and the subs would be fine, according to design software.
bro, just because a person might have a 2kw amp dosent mean you need to have 2kw of output. i will put a 27 hz tone on the head unit, tune my gains to have about 1000w of output, and let er eat.
OH, and btw, this is the OLD fi-x 12"s, not the new ones.
one last thing, the fi x 15 calls for about 11 cubic feet at 19 hz to play anything in the 20 hz range. they're kinda shitty subs, better for home audio use. the sundown audio SA-15 is a FAR better sub.
anyways, longreply is long.
-
:3 muahahahaha. going to have nice lows, internal is 6 ft^3@24hz, f3 of about 26 hz, and heres the ongoing build.
might be more to come today, my back is killing me.
i just ripped these from my facebook albums page info, if you want the full size pics, http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=61576&id=100000152410591&saved

We aint hatin, We laughin. -
we clamped one of those 5500 watt amps doing 8oo rms at 4 ohms and 1200 rms at 2 ohms, they were stable at 1.7 ohms, nothing lower than that.
not bad, but do not do rated. the only amp i would get like that is the MA audio Ma10, that has been clamped at 8kw rms at 0.75 ohms.
-
Yeah, i had 2 higher end JVC head units, they sounded like shit compared to a $70 pioneer, the 4 volt preouts REALLY make a difference, like he said. i will pm you a link to a headunit you should get.
-
IMO strapping 2 amps makes it have the same output as one amp, dosent the minimum independence rise with strapping? amps that were 1 ohm stable will be 2 ohms stabe, so on.
-
just get a relay and find a switched wire, /THREAD.
what subs
