the new stype type rs seem to have problems with the surround comming off the basket every one except for 1 or 2 ( out of 8 ) have come apart at least once used some 5min expoxy and we good to go!

well.. i got the DD9512fs heres a few pics te subs were pretty well done worked but one the spider was completly off the landing theres holes EVERYWHERE in the surround im gunna patch one and see how it likes 6K in the "super special" box i got with them heres the box.... the port opening is square.....the port itself is the shape of the box im not really sure how to describe it but... might beable to tell from pics i dont know wtf this guy was thinking dont know how they will sound subs.....were pretty well held togeather with gasket maker lol took it all off and got pics of holes te "foam" you see is the gorilla glue he tried using to hold surround on the landing...what a guy but for the price (300) i thikn that was a decent deal! edit: whats the best was to clean the motor up?

mine takes 1 ohm bridged as well without going into protect ya... the voltage is diff on the 2 channels by about 4 or 5 volts ( mine were anyways )

thought about that yes but i cheaked and i dont think they were it is possible tho its still intact its like... 1/2 a mm threw thr surround one is almost all the way around the other is 1/2 way around thats "torn" the coils look brand new still thats a good thing could very well be my box design also

not complaing just showing what happend i thought the coil would have cooked 1st not a partly torn surround its not even all the way threw they were perfectly fine in my 6th order but it was smaller then this box if i had a smaller box i dont think it would have happend the rms is about 800 seeing as how they have hte level 4 coil i was told it adds 30% power handling

i had it tuned a little lower then 3k so im gunna say they were eaching getting 1000-1200 still pretty good for a sub rated at 600rms i think if hte surround was a bit tougher it wouldnt of happend there still fully working with no problems still but i dont think il pul 1000+ to them right now the way they are lol

alright which will take 3K better the sl 12 or the dd9512 3k daily that is in 5 cubes at 35hz

is DD the only place i can get recones? i was quoted $88 for a "stock" recone would need dual 1 or dual .7 coils or even dual 4s i was on the phone with them for a while..... he kept wanting to sell me other subs?! lol as the subs sit right now they are still playable but need spiders glued back to landings he used gorilla glue and it all foamed up?! looks like sheit pics!!! i would clean them up befor the new recone if i get them

i can get both for about the same price which would be better? the DDs are 9512 f seris motor they need a recone but i can get motors and baskets for 300obo they still work but spiders are comming off the landing i want to throw 3K to each sub so which would i be better off with? goals loud daily and able to do a 150 on a burp

this box was at 33-35 and hte advatar is just a bunch of pics combined to make that lol but yes they do have a crap load of xmax they havent bottomed out either

no it wasnt in that box they were fine after that i built a new box that was 2.6 at 33hz that it happend in im assuming hte surround is the "limiting" factor on the excursion on teh dc subs i think if it had a little bigger one it would be fine what i mean is make sure when the subs at full xmax make sure the surround has a little bit more left so they dont tear like they do

well.... subs are level 3 10s with level 4 coils and an extra hard spider pulled them out of the box today and noticed this its not torn all the way threw just like on the surface didnt notice it befor because i had the subs inverted...glad i pulled them out today thats forsure! will be getting goop in the future but from under the surround ( thanks thor for that idea! ) may get a free air vid in a day or so pretty impressive xmax for a level 3 power on the subs was roughly 1500rms ( audiopipe 3k at 2 ohm to a pair of subs)

your box is small for the 18 as well might have been better trying sealed then ported

there the stroker 18s there forsale one needs a recone tho

not at the moment i can get the spls for a nice price and since im in canada shipping wont be much! i ran an IXL 15 a while bakc on 1500 rms didnt seem to like te box i had it in 3.7 at 34 i think it was would reach xmax pretty quick but for what marks willing to do for me ill be running them!
