well... this sub had a noise and i couldent find it tried putting some resin on the cone to stiffen the cone up where the surround was glued out ( sounded like it was trhere) and it didnt help so... i killed it didnt take as much as i thought it would but... still took 2000rms free air for a little till the former tore from the coil and broke the cone/surround joint so i ripped it apart and wall socketed the cone! was petty fun heres some pics and 2 vids ill have the vids up later there loading right now

i know how you feel with the no room thing 4 10s in a 6th order leaves me no room for amps both amps are on the box not the best spot but.... theres no where else to put them!!

i was running 2 rear batts of a stock 90A alt you should be fine do the "big 3" it will help cheak your grounds make sure there good try to get as much wire into the terminal as you can and make sure your gains are set right

teh black stuff is just from condensation in the pipe running down the pipe over the carbon ( bacl) and drips out the little holes the humming noise is from that leak you speak off i would being it back and have him fix it forsure

i had 4 type r 10s on 3K in 4 cubes at 33 hz or so switched hte args out to 4 10 inch level 3s with level 4 coils and extra spiders but only 2K ( till i got the 2nd amp) and it was louder in a direct swap on less power i put 1500 to my level 3s with coils every day just fine if your smart about it 1000 to a " stock: level 3 SHOULD be fine if your carful

deffinatly ported lol 1994 cavalier as much port as possible and have enough air space for subs e;ectrical isnt that great but voltage stays up above 12 ( dont let it under that anyways) 2 red tops in the back tock infront 2 runs of 1 gauge big 3 140A alt soon to be more and hopefully more battery power max dems are 14 tall 31-32 deep and 36 wide

whats the smallets i can put 6 level 3 10s into ive got about 1000rms to each of them is 5.5 to little?

i read his 1st post wrongg i thought he was upgrading to 15s and had 10s or 12s befor the 15s with the right box 1000 to each should e do able i run 1500 to each daily for a few songs at a time with no issues but my box is built around the power im using as well

4 cubes... how many subs did you have in therE? im hoping 4 of them? lol

what was box specs? could have been clipping the subs ive never got mine hot enought to smell buring coils lol

i feed my level 3s 1500 also they work well with that power haha

if its anything like hte 2nd gen cavalier trunks i wouldent go bigger then 36 wide ( trunk brakets are exatly 36...need to bend a bit to get in) 14 tall ( trunk springs are a bit taller... need clearance for sub) and 31 deep ( any deeper will be hard to get into the car and you need room for air to go) that leaves room onto of the wheel wells for air to get around the box and into the cabin hope that helps its will be a pain in the ass to get into the car but its do able

even if it has a slight bend in the basket that doesnt effect playability (sp?) throw some weather stripping or somethinf around there and be done you got a 500$ sub for 70$ andddddddd X2 to what jdirty said....

ive got an 18 in my cav now box is 36 wide 13 1/2 tall and 31 deep 3 6 inch ports tuned to i thikn its 38hz give that a try

i ran 4 level 3s with level 4 coils and stiffer suspension on 1500 a piece with no problems

noo going soon i hope within the month to see what it does i took the 10s out and have an 18 in right now 10s deffinatly stomp the 18 in output but thats a given lol

bump! thinking about selling and going to 2 12 inch level 4 xls and hoping a more efficient box will help me get louder pics

if your trunk is anything like the 1994 cav 2nd gens pull your backseat off cut the sheet metal you can fit 15 tall 36 wide ( trunk hinges get in teh way any wider but hammers fix that) and about 32 deep ive got a box thats 36 wide 31 deep and 13 1/2 tall in my 2nd gen now and its not bad to get in there but intire baseat needs to get removed to fit the box lol

its in i have ports firing into cabin but its not that loud but once iopen the trunk it gets alot louder so im going to try facing the ports to rear of the trunk and see what happens

gary ask ken what he thought my my set up with the 4 10s im pretty sur ie can get a little hair trick just never tried why not look into the hdc3 10s?

heres a box im doin its 7 cubes net 3 6 inch ports that are 17" long tuned to about 38.5HZ i believe ( higher then i wanted) but the sub was hitting the one port so i had to cut them down a little still need to pull the top off and resin.glass the ports to the inside of the box then lots of sanding, brace it then pull only set up out and try er out! not sure which was i want to fire the ports should i fire them back? they will only be about 2 1/2 inchs away from back of the trunk or i can fire ports into cabin of car pics! you have what looks likea 2 inch exhaust on your 454?! id go atleast 2 1/2 or 3 inch will also sound alot better then it does now also doesnt sound like its cammed much is it an RV cam?

ha... tripple post much and i would plug it to play songs that are slowed probly wont do it tho but to see how it sounds
