  1. ive heard both personally. heard the btl and the xl and lv5....i personally purchased the 2 dclv5 15" and it was way cheaper than 2 fully loaded btl shipp to my door. but you gotta know people. and with the btl, good luck finding deals on bnib. the dc lv5 beats out the btl imo in daily loudness. the btl had jsut a lil better sq. but thats about to change whem i tune a bit lower. get the dc xl and you be good. but i still like the btl. greeat sub. either one wont dissappoint you.
  2. bass boost seems good to me at +1. shouldnt turn it up though. set your ssf about 5-10 hz below your box tuning. what is your box spec? port area? cf? i have mine lv 15"s in a 7.2 cf with 156 inch of port. alot, and it gets down with the lows and al around. tune to 36hz. set your lpf around 80. were you planning to use the bass knob/ if you do, did your friend turn it all the way up when your friend adjusted the gain. it is to maiximis its use. so when evrything is tune correctly. and you bring it down and slowy turn it a bit for good demo.so nomatter how high you turn the knob it wont reach its clipp signal . adjusting the knob like that during tuning is to make sur you wont have any momre head room to boost and clipp it. but while you do that, everything else should be set at 0.volume at 3/4. and are you rnning a eq? or any prossecor? make sure the gains on it is @0 also. are you listening to mix chop songs when you smelt that smell? some song has very poor qaulity.double check your wiring, mybe you did it correct but maybe one fell out and caused you ohm load to be crazy. like you running on 3vc.you just gotta take the time and start searching step by step. you said you been installin since 98, time to do it agian now. sometimes a friend over look things cause its not really his car, + no real passion to take it serious. hey, some friends jsut arent as into it as you lol. hope you get it taken care of.
  3. man that is nice steve! i hope you can host some show. not many in fresno. ill take my truck up there everytime. when do we expect it to be open? to all public? like a muesum? lol, mad props. when i see it open up and business phone out. ill call in a appointment to check it out. looks really nice. where is it at anyways? southside? davis, elk grove?

  7. i like hatches, crx,eg civic, integras. then for bigger beats i like tahoes. i have a toyota pickup but upgrading the aly is expensive and harder to install than gm trucks. but i love my yota cus not many people use it. but im really would like to purchase a post office mailman truck. them lil one! just for street beat! that be the shit!
  8. the starter itself. as you keep crankin it it'll eventually start most of the time. tht click click noise you hear is the starter itself clicking. also some propblem accures to the key ignition too where it is too weak to give thestart to the starter. just tap the starter a few times and try it out. if not then itll work when its warmer. i would highly recommend you take out the starter and preplace the contact points. save yourself 100 bucks. my truck gave me that problem for about 5 months, although i know it will start eventually. i just squeeze it the time to take it apart. after that i it starts up like a champ. been 5 months already and i had it parked for a month til the other day and i started it with a battery just to cycle the engine. it starts right up.
  9. i dont think its the ground at all. ive ran into this problem twice n both my older car. 93 civic and 94 toyoa. its the 2 copper contact point inside of your starter. as years go by and many start/spark in you starter it wears out. thats why itwhen you budge it or so it magically starts again. alot of people or 98% of the people will just go out and buy a new one. dont, when you take it out theres 2 -3 screws on one end, it comes of easy in just a couple piece. youll see the copper concacts. a "L" shape. just go to any auto electronic store. its like .50 ( 50 cents) each. napa doesnt carry it so go elswhere.. replaces both of them and put it back in. its a dollar fix. its bsically rebuilding your starter. good luck. it took me 40 minutes to take out the starter in my toyota and 2 minutes to fix it.
