Have you tried anything yet to make it better?
-
Haha, thanks man. I'm sorry I didn't know, I would have definitely let you hear it. I actually did do a few demos up there but it wasn't really that nice up there weather wise so I kinda took off pretty soon. I don't live to far from St.Ignace tho just on the other side of the bridge so anytime you are in the area again, send me a message or something.

Doesnt the DC 175.4 have bandpass feature, which can allow you to set the high pass at 125hz or whatever and then the low pass where ever your tweeters are going to come in?
-
Mine was the opposite, it was decent lows but not quite enough, I was tuned around 34hz. I had 3 18" IA Death Penalties in my 99 explorer in a wall before I got my 4th and changed up the box. I also had two 18" Fi Bl's in a wall in the same spot a few years earlier. So you liked it overall? I have a 98 explorer and have been wanting to do a wall like that. I don't know if I want 6 12"s, 4 15"s, 2 18"s...well, maybe 3. Think 4 could fit? Yea overall I did like it a quite a bit. I really don't see 4 fitting though in a wall like that, because for one it wouldn't give enough airspace and even if you are able to get them all on the baffles, there wouldn't be much room at all for any port. I'd say 4 15's if I were you.

Question about port length on 4th order bandpass

Well that would then add a little volume to the box and would probably be about 6.5-7" in length. Not bad. -

Question about port length on 4th order bandpass
46panel replied to 46panel's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Haha yea and just got a message from Mike Singer saying to start with 350" of port area compared to the 450 I was originally thinking. I know with a smaller port I'd be able to get the length down and I know he KNOWS his BP's but just curious why only 350. That'd give me like 16" of port per ported cub if it was 22 cubes. -
Question about port length on 4th order bandpass
46panel replied to 46panel's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Yea that would be the best I know, it's just I don't have access to a termlab. Did yours do better with more or less port area and how much did you have and what'd you tune it to? Lol it's kris man but yea I probably will start sometime within a months time -
4th order bandpass in new dodge ram
46panel replied to windowtinter's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
The tuning in a 4th order is like a low pass filter. Then the ratio helps determine how wide of a range it has. 1:1 ratio has larger 1:3 or more has smaller range but more efficient. Atleast I think that's what I've got out of my bp research. -
4th order bandpass in new dodge ram

Awesome! I'm debating doing a 4th order for my 4 18's that why I was curious. How long is your port, about 10"? I was thinking of going with about 45hz tuning because I'm looking for a low end beast and doing a 2:1 ratio. 11 sealed 22 ported with about 450" of port area. Built a decent amount of boxes but new to bandpass.
