Not bad! A friend here at the shop has 2 type r 10's in a ported box with the Power Acoustik 4000w amp....hit 145 on a TL.
Not sure how he does it but I was impressed, and yours looks good to man!!
Any plans for the HU or keeping it stock?
in time i'll prolly look into new HU but for right now i kinda like having the buttoms on back of the wheel, and not sure if any after market unit would be able to use them, for now just trying to do things with almost no extra money and i'm a bass head at heart just can't afford to go all out

you gotta have the youtube embed link then make a reply with the [ youtube ] tags (no spaces between [ ])
Thanks been trying to figure that out now i know thanks man
-
ok first i know its not a top of the line set up like alot of videos here, but i did box and all the wiring and everything myself so i'm kinda proud of it for now....
just 2 10's in my jeep liberty, so don't expect alot of flex or nothing like that lol anyways hope you enjoy this small system
-
Thank you all for the in put. but after some playing with sketchup for a bit, i wouldn't have enough room for the 15's giving them each 4cft. and box tuned to 33hz so will have to go with the 4 10's oh well should sit hit hard
-
2003 jeep liberty limited, with out folding the rear seat i should have just enough room for etheir set up. just trying to get some idea's on what set up i want to go with when i redo my system and give the old setup to my girl
-
the 4 10's would be 1000rms each, and the 15's 1400rms each. i should have the room for etheir set up in max spec ported box and the amp is not in question just say each sub would be getting their rms matched.
what would you guys go with?
-
So my setup hits lows well, but on songs like welcome back when the bass is rolling or whatever from higher notes down to lower notes, it barely hits the higher ones, is that normal or do i have to mess with my filters?
ray is speaking the truth, i have suv with to 10's small speaker "should be nice and tight" well ya they aren't i hit the lows damn nice but once i get to about 70hz notes you can notice it starts to lose its punch.
if your running a ported box i would say might wanna think about a sealed box i know that made i big difference on the highs
more info about the car/truck, box set up, subs and amp would help get some better info as to what it might be and how to help it

You want something nasty for your car hit up my sig and shoot me an e-mail.... I can get you a quote on a DC Alt and see what the biggest thing we can put in there for the amount of money you spend. Also, I recommend more output at idle rather than at top end... but thats just me.
i agree with that i rather have more at idle then at higher rpm. my jeep has its own rumble at idle let alone if i hit the gas lol. and and what better way to enjoy your bass then to just sit back and turn car on and enjoy

ok cool... i see how to do that now... how do i build the vertical walls? do i build them to the side and then move them? or buld them on the bottom piece? im trying to piddle around with it but im not getting very far...
what i do for side walls is just build the 2d (paper thin) wall going up the push/pull it to the thickness i want or build the outline on the base of the box to lenght and thickness and pull it up to the height i want this way doesn't work for angled side peice tho, for angle i use the first way and just build the wall up to its height and thickness and pull it to the lenght i need, i'm sure theres a better way of doing it, i know you can build peice and move them into place i think i just never figured out how to do it yet
i'm kinda in same boat as you still learning what all i can do with it and figuring stuff out but i how i can be of atleast a little help
-
ok so im trying to learn how to build boxes on ketchup and its not really lookin that great.... i built an enclosure and it looks fine but definately not like the ones ive seen on here... the walls are paper thin and i cant get the measurements exact.... they are always a fraction off....
i started by making a rectangle and used the pushpull to make it the correct height..... am i doing this wrong.... can anybody tell me how to do this? or is there a tutorial for making subwoofer enclosures on sketchup?
i always just type in what i want it say push/pull click on push or pull it just little bit and just type like 3/4 or .75 and hit enter and it goes to that size same with lines and stuff just type in the lenght and hit enter on for things that have 2 sides like square or what ever it would be 30, 30 then enter. i just played around with it befor i start to build anything with it myself cuz i didn't see much help learning it

i might be wrong but wasn't it you in his is lastest video? with the civic and he lets you? drive the hoe?
if it was i thought he said you got some wire out of the scrap bin? lol i don't know i might just need my hearing and eyes checked
-
should be fine ya and still have safety net incase it does ever short.

Ok im doing the big 3 this week in my 2000 cavalier with a alternater size of 105 amps. I heard you need to put a fuse inbetween the alt and battery positive. For the 1/0 runs the the amps im using 200 amp anl fuses. I looked around for a answer couldnt find one so i posted this. Can i just not have a fuse?
only answer i know is in the wiring guide thats pinned
and as for not having it fused well stock my wire from alt to battle was not fused and i did the big 3 with 2 gauge and left it un fused so it won't hurt not having a fuse just need to watch out as to not have the wire short out if not fused all i can say
-
nice work, got my gears turning now
-
i don't think welding cable would hurt nothing, i use semi battery cable (2 gauge) for all my power and ground and its all fine, the welding wire is prolly even better if its bigger gauge i would think since it does handle alot of amps and volts
just my thinking anyways take it for what you will
-
well the front board didn't come out well at all so no counter sunk subs for me, maybe next box i build i'll have router for. oh well box is still there thats the main part i guess not bad for first box build i think will post pics in few days when i get it all finshed with the under coating and bed liner and subs in

Bump! No1 wants a BTL?!?!?! lol

I have an old turbo off a mazda 626 and i want to put it on my mower and i was just wondering if all i need to do is run an oil pump and an oil cooler for oil. i dont need the guages or nothing and does the air go thru the intercooler before the turbo or after?
turbo goes befor the intercooler then to the intake and run the stuff for the oil and i beleave you should be all set..... never put one on a mower befor so might have to do some other stuff too not sure

with that amp how does he have it ran? 1,2 or 4 ohms? and are his subs dual 2 or 4 ohms? i'd like to push more to them subs but don't want to fuk them up at the same time so i just got the smaller amp wired at 1ohm rated 1200rms but i know they not getting 100% of that but still happy with it for the 160 buck it costed
