  1. alot of dj programs have it, say you got a song thats recorded at +5db you can go ahead and normalize it to 0db or lower if you'd like and most of the time that will take care of the clipping in the song unless they just totally screwed the song up, nero verison 6 had a wave editer that came with it that had this option to adjust the normal db level of the song and you could play song watch the meter on the said to see if it went above 0db, if it di then aka it would clip at that point

  2. theres also some programs that you can fix the clipped songs with, by put them back at 0db or lower depening on the song, in any case clipping is the fastest way to blow you system even at low volume.

but ya watch what song you download, set you amp gain with scope and find out what your head unit clips at, if you do all that chances are you can run your system all day with out any worrys :)

  3. Caps are really only good if you got like no volt drop, as far as i understood them. all they do it store a quick brust of power, unlike batteries they charge and dis charge very fast, but if you don't have the extra juice to feed them they are not helping you, thats why you see now they got bat/caps. i myself run extra battery and a cap. do i really need the cap? prolly not but i had it sitting around so i figured it wouldn't hurt to use it. but say if i can't even keep the voltage to keep my amp above 12v then all the cap is going to do it make it worse since thats going to suck up a charge and discharge everytime the bass hits.

thats what i understand about caps right now i'm sure someone else can bring more light to this, but then again it depens who you talk to as well

    just my 2 cents

  4. sorry to tell you this but you not going to get those subs to 1ohm on one amp with 2 d2 on one amp you got .5 ohm or 2ohm

    2_2ohm_dvc_2ohm.gif

so your best bet would be to use the 2ohm one unless your sure your amp can handle .5 stable

  5. Ok first i was messing around and took some extra wood and built a box for these 2 subs? mid bass? speakers. all i know about them is they are 5 1/2's with dual 2 ohm coils. well anyways got box all done and what like what the hell i'll hook them up to my amp in the jeep that powers my 2 alpine type r's (BAMF 2000/1) on the same setting gain and all set same as for my alpines. well was i surprised! check it out, i think someone going to have a bangin power wheels when she gets old enough lol

  6. wtf? are you serious right now? lmao. the R's can handle 1000rms a piece EASILY. you just clipped them to death and then ended up blowing them. your fault, not alpines.

    x2

i have had 1 of my 10's hook to my amp by itself and it handled it just fine

  7. ya prolly wouldn't work on it there myself, but ya i have feeling its the starter or the pos wire going to the starter silinoid in any case its should be cheap fix but your computer should be fine if everything else its working as normal, it could happen but i never seen where computer just stops one function and not a few others also.

i used to have old carmaro that i had to start with a screw drive, had to touch it across the starter posts on the back of the starter to get it to start lol

  8. check your wire running down to your starter, if your getting good voltage and stuff just won't "Click" and your dad wiggled some stuff and got it to start its prolly the pos wire going to your starter, i've seen it happen befor, had boneville that i had to replace that wire. and if that don't do it and i would just do this anyways while you down the messying around take starter off and go get it tested. with out being there looking at it myself thats about all i can say unless you find out more info about whats going on

EDIT: another thing you could do to see if its the wire is take some like 4 gauge from the pos on battery, (make sure your key all the way on like you going to start it) and take that wire and touch it to the pos post on the starter silinoid if it turns over its most likely the wire or in a relay but that should help narrow it down some for ya

  9. i need some help connecting my fi bl sub because it has 2 dual voice coils but dont know how to connect speaker wire to it? do i need to run 2 seperate wires, 1 wire comming from each voice coil? or do i need to connect 1 wire going into both voice coils? please help send me an email to [email protected], or reply here

    thanks,

    -silent k

rockford site or the12volt.com has a subwoofer wire guide if its dual 2ohm coils you can hook one sub at 1ohm load or 4 ohm load or wire each coil at 2 ohms, if you have more then one then you got more ways to hook it up look at hose sites tho and should help you

  10. well sound like you did great i'm sure by what you said you did good and you will get the job, and i know your feeling about getting nervous lol if i got interview or even starting new job i'm up all night the day befor just thinking bout it and feel like i'm going to get sick, i just try to act like i'm talking to one of my friends like... they the ones asking me the questions instead of someone i don't know :)

good luck tho hope it works out for you and sounds like you be working on some pretty cool stuff :D
