I've always run DVC subs off a single channel each so I really don't know how they'd respond with each coil being run off separate channels, I just know that it's not advised to do so for obvious reasons.

This thread pretty much seals the deal for me as far as who i'm getting my alt from. I pm'd mechman with a request for a quote and he got back to me the very next day. I asked another question after getting the quote and he got back to me in a matter of hours. I had requested a quote from another alt guy and it took about a week to get the quote, and the pricing was way higher for a similarly rated alt. I hate that it's gonna cost so much to get one of these but as I seen, it can be alot more. Not only that, but I absolutely need one so it is what it is. Thanks mechman for the quick response and for the testing and explanation posted here, you make it easy for us common folk to understand.

It's cool and all, but why do you guys take pride in how much rattling your subs can inflict? Maybe i'm just weird or something but I thought it was better for all the noise to be inside the car while keeping the outside as quiet as possible, aside from the wonderful music from inside working it's way outside.

I've got a custom Soundstream Reference series 4ch amp, it's blue w/polished trim bezel. Used it for about a year to run some Rainbow components but then some jack asses stole my system, all that was left behind was this amp, my Polk Audio 6x9's and the harnesses for my Clarion EQ and Alpine HU.
