  1. i have 2 18 inch level 5s in my Durangho...check my sig for the build

Spent the last half hour or so going through the pages and reading, ive seen it all before but seeing what i missed..i've never heard a 150 so Im hopin my first one will be my own.

just noticed you use a Yoohoo can in one of your vids..i love that shit, buy it buy the case while at college

  2. I live near Philly if you need a box built. It would be the 4th Durango I would be working on.

That would be awesome, I know making it myself would end up with more pride in the work but i honestly dont have the time or money to buy everything i'd need so for now someone else making it who knows what they are doing would be awesome, its an 03 durango so not exactly the same as chodes but we could work it out, I jus dont kno i want low because ill only be giving about 1k rms to each sub because I dont have the money to buy a lot of electrical, just getting big 3 a new batt and potentially a bigger alt, id like to do that first but can only go with the budget. Was trying to look at the future so I could jus upgrade the amp and be done but money wise I may jus have to go with lvl4s but xls would be the goal. Maybe lvl 4 with lvl 5 coils. Maybe work somethin out to get a G put on the end of the DC logo so I could have my initials on them but Ill have to do that myself haha..this is all just preplanning, once i get my old car sold I'm getting the door components and amp for them, then its time for subs, box, amp but college takes up a shit ton of time. I'm working, but got to save for gas money during the winter cause no job then. Kinda rambled lol sorry for novel.

If all else fails..lol i guess ill go budget wise and get some type r 15s, which was the original goal. Have since spent too much time on here.

  3. Okay so i went in my durango and took some measurements to see what I could do..I'd like to save up for 2x 18s but wasnt sure if i had the room so i measured. Here's a pic of my back

    sdc10030f.jpg

I can take out the compartments if i need more depth but as you can see the side panels limit a little

The measurements came out to be 3.71ft L x 3.67ft W x 1.21 ft up to the top of the middle seat, could go a little higher, it comes out to 16.474 cubic feet roughly, i measure in from the sides about 1/4 of an inch instead of giving it full just to make sure. I'm not sure how much room id need for a ported box for 18s but i want it tuned around 32-34hz. What you guys think? I want it to go low and i'm not sure if theres a difference 18 vs 15s. I'm lookin at lvl4 or lvl4xls in the comin month or two. I'm reading up on all the Qms, Qes etc because im not sure what each actually means.

  4. if you need a little cash there are always local buisness's on craigslist posting stuff like $100 to try some new food they have, and such. you should check it, may be able to get some beat >.>

    Does the food contain aids?

id love to try shit out for money based on my opinion off it, but ive heard the pay isnt worth it,( jus rumors), and ive noticed to get companies to really help you out you gotta invest money in them first.

  5. So as i sit here doing college homework attemptin to get a degree in somethin and listenin to my laptop music. I wonder why college has took so much of my money and why the money i do have i need to save in case shit happens with my car or somethin comes up. So everyone little bit i get i can save. All a kid wants is 2x 18 DC lvl 4 or 5s.. Is that too much to ask? lol I know im not the only one with barely any cash to spend because your books cost 700$ this semester or your car is givin you trouble or you jus got your system jacked. List is endless. But god damn ive had no beat for almost a month. My friend had 2 x 12 pioneer subs on a hiphonics amp and im jealous. Just another college kid/person bitchin about no cash..Rant off

i needed to vent alittle and the gf doesnt give 2 shits about car audio so guess you guys get to waste about 2 mins of time readin this stupid post lol. sorry.

  6. Guess ill continue saving up and get 18s unless someone can persuade me why the 15s are better I listen to rock/rap. Basically knew what i wanted just needed someone to be like WTF GET 18S.. I drive an 03 durango so space shouldnt be too much of an issue..or am i wrong?

  7. So For the last month or so I've been savin(college isnt cheap) to get some lvl 4 15s, I've never seen or heard DC personally but they get awesome reviews from basically everyone so im willing to take that risk. Lately Ive been pondering the idea of getting 18s instead but noticed the FS of the 15 is relatively lower. Does this mean the 18 wont get as low? I know it depends on the box, which i was planning on gettin tuned to around 34hz. The reason I'm debating is the fact that it may only require a lil more saving and no one around here has 15s as it is so 18s would blow everyone away. I planned on running 2k rms(1k each) and dont worry I will be upgrading my electrical before the new install. Just want some opinions on the whole 2x 15s vs 2x 18s. The 18s would move more air cuz more cone area but how would the SQ be, once again i know itll depend a lot on the box so.. maybe im kinda of answering my own questions but just want some opinions.

Was also considering the lvl4 xls if i can get my money right that way it wouldnt require a whole new set up for an upgrade.. Let me know what you think. Thanks guys

  8. Looking for a box for 2x lvl4 15 DC Subs, would like it tuned 32-34hz. I drive an 03 Dodge Durango. No rush on this, just putting it out there while i save up money since college is leavin me broke. I know it would be cheaper to build it myself but I don't feel like I'd be able to do a good job with the bracing and everything. Let me know if you need anymore information. Thanks.

  9. The ohm load is a way to control how much output you get from your amp. The ohm on the coils is just so you have different wiring options. If you use too low of an ohm load it will hurt your amp, not so much your subs unless your amp is putting out dirty signals. Then you could potentially hurt both the amp and the subs in return for a little extra power and a voided warranty if you had one to begin with.

  10. Look's like im going to settle and get those t162 components. Before I buy was wondering if anyone else had any other suggestions. Budget is around 150 a set, being those RF's are that. I plan on running 100w RMS to each speakers. The size in my car are 6 3/4 but should have no trouble getting 6.5's in aslong as the mounting depth is big enough. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

But based on looks, I think these are superior. Not sure if there's much difference, just checked out the cone materials and RMS

  11. So far I'm enjoyin this head unit, had almost everything I wanted and wasn't expensive, I know i coulda got the same features for less on a pioneer but I wanted to try some diff brands. It was between the kenwood x693 and the alpine 9886, the thing that made my option was that id have to buy adapter for the 9886 such as for the aux input and then an extension for the usb. The kenwood I only have to get an aux extension so i saved almost 100$. I had much better SQ even with my stock speakers but i knew that would happen either way. I have yet to mess around with the Eqs too much besides basic ones, ill let ya know how that goes aswell.
