  2. Ok, this is another install I'm posting for a good-friend of mine and Team Sundown Russia teammate - Drugban and his D Style Audio install shop. He is the guy behind these rides http://www.stevemead...sundown-russia/ http://www.stevemead...sundown-russia/ Anyhow on to this project: Opel Insignia 2.0 turbo (you US guys may recognize a certain Buick) - very nice car overall Headunit - Alpine IVA-W502R Front stage custom highs mids - Audison Voice AV 6.5 Rear fill (requested by owner of the car). Hertz ECX 165.3 Subwoofer Sundown Audio Nightshade 18" v.2 - this is one of the first NS v.2's in Russia and the first to be installed Amps Sundown SAX-100.4 Sundown SAZ-1500D @ 0.5 ohms Optima 5.5L 75Ah Bluetop in the back wiring is a mix of knu, stinger and soundquest .
  3. Big thanks from Mother Russia to all following this latest round of updates
  4. local electrical supply store... you can look here http://cgi.ebay.com/10mx15mm-0-6-Audio-Braided-Cable-Wire-Cover-Sleeves-13-/230432557158?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35a6d9c866 there are also a few brand names ofr that stuff in the US, but I can't remember of the top of my head
  5. Ok guys, this is a system being put together by one of the Russian competitors for the EMMA European Finals in Rotterdam coming up on October 7th. Will be competing as part of Team Russia in ESPL Experienced Plus Unlimited (yeah, that's the name of the class, check out the EMMA web-site for details EMMA: European Mobile Media Association ) if anyone wants to see the original thread it's http://www.bassclub.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=12724 with more pics and commentary in Russian box is just under 11 cubes net
  6. they ain't rockfords, they just do a pair strapped in any case, I will also have an option of getting amps that don't strap at all
  7. so, can somebody point me in the right direction? I'm looking for a decent line driver to run 3 pairs of strapped mono-amps (maybe more) what are my options besides Y-splitters? maxx-link? are those still available? any others?
  8. So, Jacob was kind enough to let us have his SA15 test sample and it came in a few weeks ago... the guys at D Style Audio were a little busy but we got it up and running this weekend. the box went into Drugban's Ford Explorer it's just a bit under 4 cubes net and tuned to 37hz (they took it down a bit by blocking off a part of the port later on as you can see in the pics) amps are two of the new SAX1200D's bridged @2ohms (great little amps by the way) The Optima we had in the back was laying in the shop for quite some time and was reasting just over 12 volts...we saw quite a bit of voltage drop but still clmped 968 watts at 6.2 ohms after rise and dropping to 11 volts 148db's off of 1k power is pretty damn impressive in a daily box in an SUV
  9. most likely 'cause it's the same exact same thing Jacob has on the official Sundown Audio web-site for a recomended enclousure
  10. oh shat! Sundown WTMFW!!! Funny thing is, about a month ago I had this big discussion on the local forums with people wanting chrome on their motors... totally played it off since I don't really care if my motors are painted, or machined, or chrome.....and here we are - and these look damn good
  11. Jake, the SA's are nothing short of amazing I can't think of another sub that can be that versatile - it sounds great, keeps pounding for hours on stupid power levels and can put them numbers up .... WIN
  12. oh, yah, just for the sake of comparing, here's the same system putting up a 160 on an AC mic (all scores above are TL)
  13. Get a Stereo Integrity BM 12" - by far the best shallow sub I've had to work with.... 14mm one-way linear x-max thanks to XBL^2 tech ....sound great and can get pretty loud
  14. Thanks! both cars are SQ-oriented, so vids wouldn't have major flex or anything graphic, plus the Range is a client ride and I haven't seen him in a while.... The Ram we should be able to take some vids of once it's finished - it also has 2 SA12's mounted in boxes molded into the bottom of the B-pillar powered by a huge 2-channel Celestra FA2300...the front stage is a 3-way with dual 8's in the doors also powered by an FA2300...some paper 4" mid-ranges in the dash and custom made tweeters - all those are on Celestra VA's....crossover duties are done via an Alpine F1 H900 processor.... I will try to get the pics of the build from the owner and do a mini build log... he also has 2 5.5 Optima BlueTops under the hood
  15. they got'em for Ford's http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EXPEDITION-NAVIGATOR-07-10-20-GRAY-STEEL-WHEELS-4-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem58898af515QQitemZ380264707349QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories nissan\infinity as well http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INFINITI-QX56-08-10-ARMADA-TITAN-09-10-20-STEEL-WHEEL-1-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1c156f8c10QQitemZ120618716176QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories don't know abut offset, but the bolt pattern seems to be the same at least
  16. 2002 and up Dodge Rams that have the factory 20" rims come with a full-size steel 20" spare..those are badass...I've got 2 now and looking for two more to pain flat black and roll for the winter that obviously won't work on a GM full-size bolt-pattern though....but I would check with the dealer, for the size of the spare that comes on the new Tahoes since I think those have 20's stock as well
  17. Not the best pic, but you get the idea....this Ram belongs to the owner of wrCustoms - an everchanging work in progress...also this used to be my truck, so I kinda follow it
  18. so, ummm ....who want's a vid of me sitting in that on a burp? maybe I can add some of teh deebeez to the score?
  19. Ok, I'm posting this for Drugban, to cut down on the LOLz over google translate This car is built for IASCA Advanced NW 2 class - everything is behind the B-pillar and beneath the window line. The car is a Russian Izh Oda, a compact 4door hatchback - currently in totally stock form with no sound deadnr at all (they will experiment with it over the week) The gear: subs: - two Sundown Audio z15v.2's d1 amps: - two Sundown Audio SAZ3500D's strapped @ 1ohm running on 16v bats - 3 Optima 5.5L Bluetops + two FIAMM 4v cells meter - SPL Labs USB Bass Meter sealed o the dash... you've seen them before they are within tenths of the TL pics below First burp was done with the subs just dropped in the box....yeah they forgot to screw them in and still fot 153.4 This is just the first 5 burps on this system, with still a bunch of work ahead. Deadn the car, smooth the box inside and out. They will follow up the score above with a TL meter, and will try to do step-by-step measurement of all adjustments from now on to the show the effect on the score. Feel free to ask any questions or comment
