Thank you for the info. Intelli-q is down all the way and settings on hu are sub +15,bass -4, treble 0, mid 0.

no bass boost or subsonic on amp, but subsonic is internally set at 28hz. Low pass is all the way down. Could the setting called intelli-q be the bass boost?

Set at 50v. Sub cant be wired to 1 ohm since its a dual 1. So would an upgraded alt stop the clipping?

any other ideas?

how should i fix the clipping since i just set it with a multimeter?

Amplifier is 0.5 ohm stable.

Ok guys I have an 18 inch Fi BTL Dual 1 running off of an orion hcca d5000. When I play it at full blast for maybe 1 minute, the dustcap gets hot and it starts to smell a bit. At full blast my voltage drops to about 11.5 volts. i just set the gain with a multimeter and it still gets hot and smells. Also, the amp does not even get warm when it happens. any ideas? thanks in advance.

Turns out it's the sub that smells and the dust cap is hot so what should I do now

I have the big 3 with a stock alt. Power and grounds were all fixed a few days ago.

But the thing is, ive had it in for like 2 months and it never did it before. Would it just start to smell now if thats the case?
