  1. 15 volts at rest doesnt mean shit bro...if you can hit your low notes at 15v then you would see a huge increase in power

alright. im hoping that when i start charging at 15 i can keep the drop in the 14's to get the most out of the amp.

i also have another question. whats the most rms you would put on a level 3 with level 4 softparts. Clean power.

  2. I don't see the point in switching to the DC 2.0, unless you prefer the emblem on the amp to say DC 2.0. Even if you get your full 2,000...2,100...hell, even 2,200 it is not going to be an audible difference.

Upgrading to the 3.5 is obviously a different story. But if money truly is an issue, as stated, are you willing to spend just as much on electrical upgrades to supply properly the demand?

well im hoping on my next build to have 3500 rms. with either two 2k's strapped or a 3.5k

as for electrical im going to replace the optima up front with a D2400 and i should be good to go.

i think i might just look into the bc3500 the price on those are really good for a reliable amp. however i do love the DC amp designs and the way they look. so i suppose ill have to cross that bridge when i get to it.

and yeah i agree having just a 200 wattage difference is not enough to make me want to buy a 2.0k from DC but i know those amps are pretty strong and can handle alot. thats why i figured id see what yall would do in my situation

  3. im thinking about selling my crecendo bc2k to someone and switching to a DC2k or a 3.5K money is pretty tight so i was wondering how much power will the 2.0k push at 15 volts and wired to .5ohm.

i have a 270 amp alt from mechman and d3400 in the back with an optima yellow top up front.

i know its not dead accurate but im only getting 1900 rms out of my crecendo. i know its supposed to do rated but im thinking that my head unit could be clipping the signal and thats why it scoped so low.

but anyways. how much power gain do yall think ill be getting? im hoping for around 2500rms. if not then ill probly save up for the 3.5k

Edit: the crecendo is only at 14 volts and drops to about 13.5 so the 2.0k will be on higher voltage when i get the regulator from mechman

  4. dang id love a 240 amps at idle lol.

i have a crap ton of belt slip on my 4.2 v6  any simple things that might help that out? its only at first start up and when the alt loads up real bad

he had another thread about something to reduce belt slip drinks.gif

http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/122003-belt-slip-eliminator-kit-install-for-ford-46-54-and-68/ here it is maybe he can make it to fit your vehicle

I have a pretty good amount of contact on my belt with the pulley. i have a side mounted alternator. i was thinking maybe shorten the belt an inch or so to get it a little tighter

  5. well i havent checked this in a day and this is what i get. lol

thanks guys. i figured it acted on the same basis as a wall. and yeah i was looking to help reduce trunk rattle.

this is for my brothers hyundai elantra like 2000's model.

i was planning on trying a tline in this with two SA12's on a BC2k. but his mother wont allow it lol. so i figured a sealed off trunk would be the next best thing.

Damn, don't think you'd have the room for a dual 12 t line, trunk build. Even one takes up a good chunk.

i had one mocked up and it was really close to fitting in the back seats area.

  6. And do u think the fourth order would produce more spl than a prefab ported box?

YES a custom build box of any kind that is build correctly will out do a prefab.

there are cases where a prefab will produce decent numbers. but most people on here would suggest building your own box.

4th orders can produce big numbers because they are very efficient. 90% of the numbers are all in the design of the box.
