  1. Damn, seems like everybody is blowing a transmission lately.

On my way to a show in Columbus last Sunday, My trans decides to grenade, 100+ miles from my dorm, 200+ from my home.

    FUCK THAT SHIT.

Yea im on my 3rd this yr... The shop called the 1st one "bullet prof" ... FAIL. than he de-tuned it, FAIL! Than he fixed it agin with no shif kit and i destroyed the output shaft.... WTF? homemade valve body / homemade shift kits FTL.

Tsunami Dream case with Custom blow holes

Have lots of pics if interested. I build Custom PC's.

  3. Strip back a piece of wire and wrap it around the outside of the rca outputs on the back of the radio. Make sure its touching the metal (ground part)or the rca's. then ground the wire to the chassis ground or antenna

Always make sure the GROUND is the Last thing disconnected from you amp is what i have always been told. AS well as the FIRST thing hooked up. The Ground on any Electronic item is VERY important. I have seen a lot of "problems" caused by a bad ground. In my blazer i had to actually Run a new ground for my H/U so i wouldn't pick up hum from my Headlights and Blower motor. Not all Vehicles Need this just saying.

  4. i got quoted 1400 for 4 15" dc audio level 4 xl's

thats the same price if your trying to get 4 alpines

negative. i only paid 350 a PAIR for them and that's at COST from the shop :D 700 for 4 so i got them at a steal. now i just want to hear them if im not impressed there going on CL

  5. so are they louder then the L7s?

Dont know yet, after building the box and getting the subs my Transmission went out 12 hrs before the show. i was on my way to Lowe's to pick up spray glue when it blew up all over the ground. Its ok though the trans is under a full 3 yr warranty and this is my 3rd with the same company in the last year. They make in house "performance" tranny's that sometimes end up on the ground LOL. Ill post as soon as i hear them, im supposed to get back my blazer on friday :)

PS i missed my show too :(

  6. I also own a 97 blazer and the dash does come off easily, I have the same stock radio but found it quite easy to remove, but have been doing this stuff for 5+ years. Now my First install was my GF's 97 cavalier 4 yrs ago and that was a bi*ch. the whole dash literally comes out lol.

  7. yea i am about to start working at the shop that is hooking me up. I have been going there for like 4 yrs now and have a good relationship with the installers. I always build my own boxes and do all my own alarm/starter wiring. I think its def gonna be the r 15's but will 2 R 15's Beat out 2 L7 12's? i have the plenty of power.

  8. the last system i had in my 97 blazer was 2 L7 12's on an old school 1500.1 (sharkfin) which hit 144.6 (TL). I sold it am now looking at new subs. My buddy works at best buy as an installer and like the Alpine type r 15's (He drives a 01 Jimmy with 4 15" T1's so he knows loud) When i went to the two local shops they both suggested Alpine R's. One shop offered me the 15's for 350.00, Which is a great price. Oh and i need the new setup by this Sunday for a local show. The L7's won me third last time, will the R 15's be louder?
