  1. I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and I'm in need of better brakes due to excessive weight in the rear. The system and hard top make it dangerous for me to drive when my wheels are wet (as proven by my lack of stopping ability yesterday morning... rear ended someone while trying to stop at a red light. The circumstances were no different than stopping at any other light at any other time, other than the fact this time when I stepped on my brakes, my car kept rolling.)

So my question is, what kind of brakes should I be looking into buying? I have 20" wheels if that helps at all and thanks in advance

  2. where do you plan on putting your amp(s)

There were a few options, it would depend on how big the amp was. If it was on the smaller side, probably under the hood (the engine is in the back). If it was bigger, I'd put it behind the driver side front seat on the floor most likely. Or I would build an amp rack somewhere on the back seat (If you look, the back rest is folded down to make a flat surface and underneath it is the base of the back seat and about 6" of space between it and the underside of the fold down).

  3. If you mean between the front and back seats, There's somewhere between 6" and a foot between them on the driver side, and hardly any on the passenger side. I'm short, so the driver side seat is never back that far. But if you're wondering about room for an amp, including space underneath the front seat there's probably between a foot and a foot and a half of space.

If you meant between the two back seats, there's no space on the floor between them.

  4. In the back of my car, I want to put a little bit of slam but theres a couple of issues.

    1) It's a convertible

    2) There's no trunk

    3) There's not much room

This is pretty much what I'm working with:

There's a little bit of space above this area where the back window lies, so it wouldn't be considered sealed off, even though it'd be really close. I think the biggest box I could fit here would be 37" wide, 13" tall, and 14.25" length at the base. Because of the front seats, I'd probably want the top of the box to have an 11.25" length at the top and then the face would be angled backwards a little bit.

Would a sealed box be a better idea than a ported box in this situation? I could fit 3 10's in a sealed box across the face I think. Is there any way I could do a ported box, and would I get better results that way in terms of loud?

What's your opinion on what I should do, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance

  5. In the back of my jeep, I plan on putting a Fi BTL 18 in a box that is 17" in length. I know the Xmax is 28mm, which is roughly 1.1 inches. Is this still the case with the daily and HiXm coil options? I'm asking because the box, at 17 inches, will be within 3 or 4 inches of my tailgate and I'm worried the sub might hit the tailgate. Do you think I'll be alright, or do you think I should lower the length a little?

  6. I was thinking about increasing the box height to allow for a bigger woofer. Originally I had planned to put another Solo X 12 in my trunk, however I don't have the space for a box big enough. So I figured an 18 would probably be my best option if I wanted the same effect with less space required. Anybody with a box design software willing to draw something up that might make the 18 possible to the best performance it could be? I think the highest my box could increase to is 34" tall

With a box just like this, would I be able to fit a Fi BTL 18 in place of the Solo X 12 that's in there now? The box is 34" wide, 24" tall, and 17" back (minus the 7.5" x 8" x 17" space where the battery is located). I plan on using the same Rockford Fosgate 20001bd I have now. What changes would I have to make for this to work? And would a Fi BTL 18 be the best replacement subwoofer if it would work?
