  1. Well, right now, I'm driving my dads truck. I was just going toss the single 12" in the backseat because no one uses it, and then when I get my OWN car, I was going to put BOTH 12"s in there.

Oh okay then go ahead and do the prefab (if its to specs or at least really close. I didn't even check). Or build yourself a basic box.

  2. Ok guys so I used both torres box calc and the calc from precision sound (found here) and I decided to just go with aeroports.

But I am trying to figure out how many I need.

If I do 2 x 4" ports by a 25" length, I can tune to 32 hz. Does this sound like its in the ballpark?

    OR

    If I do a slot port, I came up with 3" x 9" x 29"

That gets me 13"^2 per foot, and 31.5 hz tuning.

    Does that sound about right?

Either one of those will work fine

  3. first off that port is way too small. try to get around 12-16 square inches of port area per cubic foot of box then find the port length from there.

I know thats why I am asking lol.

So how do I increase the port area? so my box should have approx 30 inches of port area.

Its a JBL GTi MKii 12"

Its getting a solid 1200 watts RMS, but that is irrelevant right now...

fs is 31.85 if that matters...

    **edit**

I am figuring this out slowly I think...

10" x 3" is 30 square inches, then just calculate the depth after that?

But if I do that... then my port length has to much longer than I have space to do...

    So whats the trick?

Your port can make an L turn as long as the port wall stays the same distance away from the back of the box. (that may have sounded confusing but its almost common sense, so it shouldn't matter lol  )

  4. I think I tried the torres n it only shows with port on side of both speakers I want port in midlle n want angled corner. Just wanna do this right the first time. I've never built a tuned box. Only a few sealed awhile back. @kwagg I think I did post it on kicker fb page.

If you type in that you only have 1 port, it only calculates for one port. A single slot-portted box. When you put a length that exceeds the depth of your box, it automatically takes into account the L bend
