I have been looking at doing this, my box is just a little to small for the subs, I think I only have about 1 cube per woof, even thou its a single chamber box, I think this weekend I will do it, I was going to do it last week end but I ran out of time, damn family...

with those fuse numbers I don't think so, if my math is right? The orion at at 14.4 volts would be 1036 (14.4*90-20% assuming that the amp has a 80% efficiency rating), so the xtd4000 at 14.4 would be 864 (14.4*75-20%assuming that the amp has a 80% efficiency rating), and that assuming you dont have any volt drop...

this all goes back to acoustical theory.
"perfect" sound comes from a flat response or same volume on all frequencies.
if u have two subs in differnt tuned boxes playing the same thing it will sound bad. reason being because subs are not perfect and each one does each frequency differenty. not noticeable to the human ear but different nonetheless.
now destructive waves are what create cancellation and cause the bad sound.
for example hit two keys next to each other on the piano. sounds shitty. why? because the waves never overlap each other at either crest or trough. so they are constanly fighting each other in ur ear. plus, even tho it may not seem like it on a piano the sound created is not as loud.
when waves overlap each other they are being constructive and adding to each others loudness.
so if u take two waves that are not formed the same as one another (ie two different subs, or two differently tuned boxes, or both) they will not exactly overlap at crest and trough which turns them into destructive waves and decreases the overall volume and sound quality.
basically its not smart to do unless u know the waves will overlap perfectly. and idk what ways u could possibly do that.
wow, thats a very good explanation of this topic, sounds like some one knows his music...

Take the head unit out, and it should have a sticker on the actual unit that will give you information (at least the model) and you should be able to go from there, but I will warn you most companies don't make it cheap to replace faceplates due to the fact that it would be real easy to steal a unit with the face removed and request a new face.just buy a new HU. prob solvedto be honest. please take it somewhere before you burn your car to the ground playing with things you have no knowledge of.
what they all said!! Or if you want to learn how to do the radio install find a friend or older brother, or even someone local from this board, its not hard stuff to do, but the first time is very daunting, remember to disconnect the battery negative(-) the black side before removing and installing the old and new radio. As per driving a stick the first two times was hard, but then after that it simple, and I can drive any car cause I can drive a stick, it as help many of times being able to drive stick, plus burn outs come real easy!

I think to qualify for the insurance part if it is what he is talking about, no just the vin in general right? I think the insurance needs to know from a valid source that the work has been performed, but for a 150 beans I would call my insurance company and find out what needed to be done!
