i have a 2008 chevy tahoe and my truck controlls my alternator, i am in the proccess of buying DC power alts but i think i will have the same problem having my truck shut down my alts when it needs to. so my question is will the VCM help me keep my alts on at all times and controll my voltage like it suppose to?

viper 5902...is the best. had mine put in my 08 tahoe for about 6 months already, the range is super nice, you dont have to worry about buying new batteries for the remote just plug it in the wall for 30 minutes once every 2 to 3 weeks. its a color lcd screen, it tells you the inside temperature at request, u can lock the remote so you dont push buttons on accident, u can adjust the shock sensor from the remote, wiring is super simple if you have a newer car. Has a ton of options you can pretty much do anything you want with this.
only cons are it comes with a built in shock sensor in the module, and your not suppose to mount the module on metal so the shock sensor is not that sensitive even at its highest level. simple fix - just have them add a shock sensor and mount it somewhere that benenits the shock sensor not the module.
the color LCD kills it, its the best.
I would suggest this alarm to everyone..only thing you better be prepare for the price tag more if you have a newer style car. i paid $650.00 installed including alarm, modules and warranty.

try 4 12'' fi btls ??? did you think of that that would defenatly slam harder than the kickers
If i wanted to try stuff i would try 6 15" btls ....but i only have power for these two setups and i can only affort these two setups. right now.

Ive seen 1500rms go to each L7 before theyll take it. Just rebuild your box.
nice. so my plan is to built a new box. anyone have any desings or ideas.
tomorrow i will post the space i have, specs of the subs and so on.

4 12s = 452.16in^2
2 15s = 353.25in^2
So like Kranny said, theoretically the 4 12s will be louder.
Remember though, that the BTLs are rated for 2,000 RMS (Yes I know people put more on them), but let's say you put a good clean 2,000 RMS on both, that equals out to be 4,000 RMS.
The L7s are only rated 750 (I've never personally seen them pushed over 750 rms) so let's say you send them a good clean 750 RMS each, you end up with 3,000 RMS.
Just something to remember when you are planning on powering whatever setup you go with.
my 4 12s are kicker L7's and are square so the actual surface area for those are different then the way you do round subs.
4 12s = 576.0in^2 not 452.16

What r u talking about? I hope your not talking about wiring in seires? Cause thats what it seems like you just described, and won't "short" your sub out. It will give it a 4 ohm load.
X2

if you build a right box for your 12s, they will be louder, i would suggest getting some one on here to design a box for you..
then again, in the right box, the BTLs could be louder, if you have the equipment i say its worth a shot to make a really sick ass box and if that doesnt work, you only wasted 60 bucks, and then you can buy the BTLs
i know that 2 btls are loud but are they worth the swith.
-
I am planning my new box and setup but IDk what to pick. i already have 4 12" L7 kickers and 2 RF t20001bd. But i have been planning to do the switch to Fi. so my question is do i build my new box for 4 12" L7's or do i make it for 2 15" Fi BTLs.
what would be louder? 2 15" btls or 4 12" L7s
this is going into a suv.

send it to kicker. they will fix it for cheap $100 max and pretty much leave it brand new w/90 warranty. even the kx series. and fast turn around time.
-
no
they'll blow with anything more than radio power
spend some money, good clean highs doesnt come for 120 dollars. hell, a good tweeter costs more than that
x2 save some money and get better speakers. imo

i want 2 or maybe 3 15" AA mayhems. If anyone has at least one for sale let me know the price w/shipping to san diego (92113) included
thank you.

well copper is always better but u have to keep cleaning it every so often. either choice is good just make sure is thick.
-
check your ground connection, not at the amp but at your chassis. sometimes they move or get loose when swaping amps depends on who and how they installed it.

I have 2 rockford fosgate t20001bd amps and what i wanna know is how to control 2 amps using 1 bass knob.
need help please.
-
full i believe...its xovered at the 360
thanks.
do his tweeters have bass blockers or are they just control by the 360.2 to cancel out the low hz.
-
I have a quick question for you steve the amp for your 6.5 mids do you have it to FULL or HIGH pass?
Looking good steve..keep up the good work!

i just took a week off 2 weeks ago, to START this bastard....i get 4 weeks vacation a year but i think i only have 18 hours for the rest of the year
i used em up quicker then normal but i had fun in the process! Nothin like just taking a week off whenever i feel like, 4 times per year
when i first saw the buss bar's i thought they were to thick, but now i think they are to thin...lol.
you should leave some type of window somewhere with some type of lighting inside so you could see all that wiring...it looks way to sexy to hide.!

oh, BTW: i LOVE the alarm, SORTA - the two front windows have a hard time rolling up and the 530T's see ANY resistance and shut down. Well my front windows were never very fast but they werent THAT slow.....now they only go about 6" and stop. I lubed up the railing and rubber "guides" with some white lithium grease i had and it seemed to work.....for about 10 window roll-ups and now its back to shit again.
anyone know the best "lube" to grease teh windows up with? POS 530T might need to be modded also if anyone has info on that PLEASE hit me up!!
hey steve i also got the DEI 530T and hope this link helps, i am sure it will. look at page 6

oh BTW: since i tore out my old Ungo alarm, i went ahead and bought a new Viper 5901
I cant wait!!!
cant hate on the ungo alarm, its been working PERFECT since 2003 when i installed it......now its on to bigger better things!! I also bought 2 Directed 530T so i can get all the windows to roll up and down. Depending on the reliability of the window module and the viper, that might just "open the door" (no pun intended) to me eventually shaving the door handles. A wise man once told me FU#K door poppers, just get the window module - DAMN, makes total sense!
Anyway, its friday, ive been back at WORK for 2 days and im TIRED of working non stop, but i will have more progress soon. Tonight
Hey steve you should wait and get the new viper coming out on October 17, 2009 its the viper 7901 HD. I think its worth the wait.
